Both here at home! DS8 is determined to make it to midnight - he did it last year - and I guess I get to stay up with him! DD16 invited two friends over, but they each had other plans. She was invited to a friend's house for a "sleep"over, and decided she'd rather be home with us (awww!)

So far we played Ziggity, ate ourselves sick on hors d'oeuvres, and watched the Simpsons Movie (DS's choice), now we're watching Kathy Griffin (DD's choice). Soon we'll switch over to watch Times Square and have a sip of champagne at midnight.

Last year my downstairs neighbor's ex-husband showed up at midnight and she called the police - we're hoping for somewhat less excitement this year!

Sue, mom to Leah and Seth

We are hosting a party for my 16 y.o. DD and about 8 of her friends. The boys are leaving at 12:30; the girls are sleeping over. So far, they've been noisy, but they seem to be having fun. DH and I are just watching TV and replenishing snacks for them. My 13 y.o. DS was here for a while to help get the party started, then went over to an even bigger HS party being held at the home of one of his 8th grade friends. I miss our quiet New Year's Eves together, just the 4 of us, but I guess we have entered a new phase!

This year is a little special because it is the 30th anniversary of when DH and

DD (19) went out to dinner (sushi) with friends and then went back to g/f's house. She is staying over night at g/f's. Driving tonight is not a good idea with the yet again snowstorm.

DS (17) is upstairs in his room, he went to bed early.

DH is watching TV and I am having fun looking at real estate.

I asked DD what her plans were tonight, and she told me the truth. One of her friends booked a room at a hotel and is having people over. She and her boyfriend were going to stop by for a short while and be home by 12:30.

The friend is 18 so she can get the room. Most of the friends are not. Many have lied to their parents about a sleepover, and are spending the night.

Well, we are not having a very happy night. Kelsie and Austin were here for dinner and then went out to a friends house. They were told we didn't want them our driving anywhere, because it is amatuer night, with all the drinking going on.

She called and wanted to stay at her friends house tonight. Yeah right! I told her no she needed to come home. Then she wanted to stay out until 3:00 I told her no 12:45, she tried for 1:00, I told her no 12:45.

I hope Max got home safe and sound.

She got home at just a bit after 12:30, she was pale as a ghost with bright pink cheeks. She didn't feel like she had a fever, but she had been outside in the car where it was probably cold.
