Well, for me personally, I hope to continue thriving in my new job and hopefully find that "niche" that will help me carve out a future for myself at the university.
For me, I plan to 'look for' a new job. I won't say 'find' because it is very difficult to find a job at 53. And, living in a college town, 20 somethings with masters degrees and no wrinkles are a dime a dozen. But, like you, I need a different environment so I will at least give myself the benefit of making the effort!
For my 22 yr old, clarity and strength in his love relationship. She assumes marriage and he needs to make a decision and be clear-either way
For the 20 yr old, it's been a good second half of the year. I see him taking college seriously and doing well. I have also noted him becoming more intellectual. This is a VERY bright young man who decided it was better to be fun and cool than smart a long time ago. I see him getting back that interest and excitement again. I hope he continues on this path
Fo the 16 yr old.......safe driving!!! He scared the bejeebers out of me yesterday in a parking lot. His learning issues are, I'm afraid, coming into play here. Judging new and unique situations is difficult for him. We need to tell him NO on the license for awhile and I hope I can find the strength to do that..
DH? There is a possible opportunity for him to take a job at the main office. I hope it comes through! Home office is getting to both of us(we are both home office with our jobs-it's the negatives of retirement tossed in with the negatives of our jobs)
(1) I will try not to get too stressed with work. At 55, I am getting tried of the pressure. This year, I vow to take better care of myself.
(2) For DD(19), I hope she continues to do well in university and has fun in her life.
(3) For DS (17), 2008 will be a banner year. I hope it gets into his university of choice and I looking forward to an exciting year for him. There will a lot of new changes for him.
(4) For DH, I hope he finds the time to have more fun with his hobbies.
I hope for my teen a continued year of renewing his self confidence and not letting gf pull him down. I hope he keeps striving for the best "he" can be and that he gives his all to the more important things in life - the things that will guide him to a fulfilling future. He's got such wonderful things ahead of him - audition for the school play, final auditions for Governor's School, and just hanging with his good friends.
I especially hope for him a safe journey home from England this Friday, where he changes from 16 to 17, back to 16, and finally 17 for good at 6:02pm.
I hope for all of us a happy and healthy New Year, and one where our kids will not drive us bonkers on a continual basis LOL.
Hmmm...my kids...I hope DS graduates in January as planned and continues on a forward path. I'd like him to work, continue with the gym and find what he would like to do with his life and pursue it.
DD-15...I hope she continues to be the awesome, special kid she is. I hope that she doesn't get her heart broken, as she's deep into her very first *serious* relationship. I hope she does as we've discussed and comes to me before taking this relationship to the next level.
DD-12...may she continue to learn to avoid the drama with her peers. I'm hoping she tries out for track and field in spring.
For the most part, I guess I want them to just continue doing what their doing. Life isn't perfect but they're doing well.
I wish that the psychologist we have ds15 working with on test anxiety (3rd visit this week) will finally do the trick so that he doesn't get As on homework and classwork and Ds on tests.
For my family in general, I hope we can get through dh's deployment as a family instead of pulling away from each other and treading ever so lightly around each other.
For dh I definitely hope he remains safe and makes it home in February and for myself I hope I don't chicken out of the dental work I neeeeeeeed to get done while he's here.
For Ds, I hope that I find a way to wean him off the video games and into some sort of healthy activity.

Well, 2008 is going to be a big year for ds18.
Great question.

I hope for T another good semester at school.
It never occured to me to make resolutions for my kids!
