I had to go into the office today after being home since just before Christmas.

I'm right there with you, Diamonds! I'm putting off getting on the scale until at least Monday, so at least some of the after-effects of overeating and laziness will have worn off. I've never been one to gain a lot of weight over the holidays, but I think age & slower metabolism have finally caught up with me. The worst part is that I had lost 8 or 9 pounds during the fall, and I'm sure I've put all of it back on now. Bah humbug!

My problem wasn't the holidays, it is life in general. I have gained quite a bit of wt. over the last year and my winter shirts and sweaters and sweatshirts are just too tight. I really have to lose some of this wt. I can't do much exercising, so it will mostly have to be decreasing the eating. And being 52 sure doesn't help.

I've noticed things getting a little tighter lately - and I stepped on the scale today for the first time since Oct. 1st.... and it's up 15 lbs!!!

LOL - My New Year's resolution was to resume my diet, which I had put on "hold". I'd done so well - losing 40 pounds already. Guess what? I've gained 13 back over the holiday! So my breakfast today was 'Squirrely bread' (really heavy whole grain), all natural peanut butter, and Flaxseed. Dinner is a vegetarian "lasagna" with no pasta. Good think I got a treadmill for Christmas! :-)

<<My new years resolution is to avoid chocolate in all it's incarnations 6 days a week ...>>

That seems so drastic, Rose!

It would take a lot more than a little weight gain to make me give up chocolate! I bought two bags today--Dove and Peppermint Patties. (I only have an itty bitty piece every day.) I'll cut back on something else! I do have my principles!
