This might sound nuts but i'm sure that i'm not the only parent of a girl or boy for that matter to have to deal with this. And since i just read a post about girls shaving pubic hair i guess i can post about this.

It is difficult to make them want to be clean and smelling nice when they don't care!

well this is another problem as far as the soap goes. DD has very sensitive skin. She can only dove unscented, with no color or dyes. nothing else. She is on a RX for shampoo because of the suds running down her face and back.

my experience is that kids pick up the norm of the household and ussually follow the pattern of their role model.

Americans seem to think that there is an unending supply of water. There isn't. Sorry but you have to learn to conserve.

Inside of taking a shower every day, take one every second day and use a wash cloth. It is just as effective in cleaning. Try some soap and a basin full of warm water at bed time.
(it helps to cut down on bedding washing too.) Wash the areas that need to be wash (i,e, under the arms....., feet,......).

Her sensitivities are going to make this difficult. I find the antibacterial soap is big in controlling odor. Learned the hard way when I got addicted to all those wonderful smelly shower gels and a nylon poof. Now I keep antibacterial soap in the shower for, ahem, certain areas. HUGE difference! Might be worth a call to the doctors office to see if they have any further options or just try if she can just use the antibacterial in those limited areas-soles of feet, underarms and privates without a lot of dripping elsewhere???

Use a spreadsheet for her to check off each AM and PM on the hygiene needs. May not even need to tie to a reward-the visual may be enough but you could also take her to her favorite restaurant for a week of compliance or something.

My son is 12 years old and has some of the strangest neuroses.
