Is it softball season already?

(YAWN!) At dinner last night, my DD said, so the softball team captain set an early morning practice for tomorrow, just pitchers and catchers, for 7am. UGH - it's literally like 10 degrees outside, but we have to start thinking about softball?! So, working backwards from there - to be at school by 7, she has to leave by 6 (thank goodness she takes the subway and I don't have to drive!). To leave by 6, she needs to be awake by 5. mmmm-mmmm love that early morning alarm clock.

But, wait, it gets worse! DH left for a four day golf weekend this morning - he had to leave at 4:30, so the alarm went off at 4!! Days like this I wish we had caffeinated coffee in the house! I'll have to stop by Dunkin Donuts after dropping DS off at school.

Thank goodness my kids don't do any early morning things. Jaryd is on the bowling and tennis teams and they are both after school.

Actually it probably wouldn't matter anyway, when I get them up and off to school, I go back to bed and sleep some more. I am not a morning person by any means, except of course it I am up until the early morning hours.

I love living in the country, but my kids are missing out on getting a lot of their *street smarts*. You know, something you probably take for granted, but I think it's awesome when a kid can navigate the subway system, etc.

Softball, 7 AM, cold...ugh. That's for the young!
