I too have tried to jump off the roller coaster, and it is very tough sometimes. They seem to want to drag you right into it all. I have gotten pretty good at listening and saying "oh really?" a lot and letting it go. Where I have a problem is where bf is involved, because it directly affects my dd. I am getting better at just listening and giving advice or suggestions when she needs them. I'm moving away from having to know what is going on ALL the time.
The drama of teens can just be overwhelming. Especially when you have a dd like mine that tells you everything that is going on.
It sure is a roller coaster...I know I have to make a concerted effort to stay out of the drama, especially with the girlfriends. Yikes!
My kids tell me everything as well. Seems like, they tell me, they forget about it and move on, and I'm the one left stewing/worrying/caring/wanting to help, kwim?
Hey, I'll jump with ya! :-)
I'm kind of just getting started with this wild ride...my two just turned 13 last September...and I'm already worn out! The drama seems to build every day. Why should I let that bother me??
You are one intelligent lady!

What timing!
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha (you get the gist). If you figure out a way to step back like that you would be a hero in my book.
