I just thought I'd come check in here and post. I intend to make this more of a regular stop!
Today my teen Cory (15) came home and told me he has a date for winterfest (which is Feb. 2nd) and that it's the same girl he took to Homecoming back in September. Im excited for him. This is the first time that he's had a date two weeks before the event LOL. Two years ago he got his date the NIGHT before at the football game and last year it was a week before. So we are doing good LOL.
She has liked him for some time. He wasn't sure how he felt about her. So I was VERY surprised to hear he was taking HER. But dad and I...well, we LOVE her LOL. So I am all for it. But never push. He does know we really like her though.
Anyway....I'll post more about us when I have more time. Taking my 9 yr old to the school roller skating party.

Hey Sydney and Welcome officially to POT :)
Thanks for the siggy compliment. I switch them all the time and this time couldn't decide on which one to keep...so TWO LOL.
Hope to be around more!
I can definitely deal with the double posting....if you can LOL. And right now...my heart is breaking for the other boardies...and don't feel right posting anything upbeat. Know what I mean. I just ache for Nicole.
So anyway....this "auntie" is thinking of Max and wishing him VERY well. What a talented kid! Funny, I'm proud of him and I don't know him and have never met him IRL lol.
I'll have to post more about my issues with Cory at some point. He's a GREAT kid. But he does NOT apply himself at school. And it is so confusing to me. How a kid who can easily get A's and B's....gets D's and E's. He just doesn't care. But I'll save that all for another post...maybe tomorrow.
I know what you mean....I keep crying everytime I go to the board cause I see that top post with the words "she is gone...."
To anyone else reading this.....A woman/cyber friend on our adoption board finally had her baby girl born...on my birthday as a matter of fact and they signed papers on Monday and took her back to the hotel with a 7 day wait.
Welcome! I hope you stop by often - this is a great board! BTW, I'm assuming (maybe) that you have one or more adopted children? Both of my kids are, too, and they are now 16 (dd) and 12 (ds).

Well, we have four boys that are our bio children (15, 11, 9 and 3) and last April we started the process to adopt one girl ages 9-13 from foster care. We ended up going to Missouri to a staffing meeting for a 10 yr old girl. Ended up family number two for her. And the next day were called by that office asking us if we would consider a sibling group (two sisters ages 9 and 16...now 10 and 17) and so we considered, were chosen and are now just awaiting the placement. it's been a LONG journey. we are stuck in the ICPC (inserstate compact) paperwork that seems never ending so although we had the girls with us for 30 days (all of August) and then they came here again for two weeks at Christmas...we are still awaiting final adoption placement!

Bless your heart - that is so awesome! You and your family are able and willing to give two additional kids a forever family!
I adopted my dd when she was 2 yrs old from Colombia, and my ds when he was 8 yrs old from Russia. Although to say there were struggles and challenges along the way is an understatement, those were two of the best decisions
