dyk We really would like to E to attend Bellaire HS but the homes there start at $500k and go up from there (average price is a million).

DYK you might be surprised at what you find, Rebekah. In Tampa, there are two large non-religious private schools. The one my nephew goes to is the one for bright kids who already work very hard. The other one is more geared toward finding out how to help each individual kid succeed. They have small classes and aren't afraid to hold a kid back a year if they think the kid needs to gain maturity... that kind of thing.

DYK if they have that second kind of school where you live, it could be a great thing for Maegan.

DYK I have a lot of sympathy for you in this whole process: trying to figure out how best to help your kid, and trying to pay for it! The NY/ NJ moms will probably think this is nothing, but my nephew's tuition is $15K per year, with some income-based scholarships. I don't know what your income has to be in order to qualify, but my brother's family did not.

"dyk But I would rather have everything set up and see Megan have good grades and you don't send her rather than you need to send her and all the spots are fill and the money has been allocated.

dyk Plus, if you start touring schools - she will know you are serious."

DYK I will have to have a sit down talk with Bruce about this?

DYK He pretty much threw that subject up of sending her elsewhere next year without our having discussed it?

DYK And I'm not quite sure how serious he is about it?

DYK But most of the private schools around here have very little to offer high school aged kids?

dyk there was a sign in front of the Berkeley Whole Foods last night announcing a one day supplement sale: 30% off all store brand supplements today (Friday) only

dyk not sure if this a chain wide promotion or just local, but may be worth checking out!

dyk and she thinks I should stop taking birth control pills, or maybe try one more month and see if it is this bad again.

dyk Have you thought about getting your tubes tied so you don't have to deal with birth control?

dyk surgery cannot be my only answer.

DYK if anyone gets "fixed," I vote for JOHN rather than Jamie --- it's so much less a complicated procedure for the guys. If it's the BCPs that are causing the migraines, that would take care of the problem!

dyk agreed!

dyk but again, there has to be an easier answer.

dyk given my age, it seems insane for either one of us to have surgery when I am probably only able to get pregnant, if at all, for a couple more years.
