dyk I don't remember the exact details, and I don't have the energy to research it again now, but I vaguely remember that a woman is less likely to have ovarian cancer after a tubal and a man is more likely to have ....something.... after a vasectomy

dyk maybe fixing the guy is considered safer and healthier because if they don't follow directions after the procedure they can end up with watermelons

dyk and also the having to use a condom for some number of times afterward to get the non-blanks out

dyk women can sometimes be better at following all the post-procedure directives, therefore being the better candidates

dyk just some thoughts

DYK that surprises the heck out of me since the guys' process is more... um... exterior

DYK that surprises the heck out of me too -- totally opposite of what both my gyn said, and our family doctor who is male -- he said it is a much easier process with men and much less risky

DYK female is considered major surgery, as it is abdominal -- I was willing to go thru it

DYK a man is more at risk for testicular or prostate cancer if they have a family history of it, and they have a vasectomy.

DYK we were looking into it, but DH's brother had testicular cancer.

"DYK Loran Cassidy"

DYK That's a beautiful name, D!

DYK And I'm so happy that you felt that you could share the name with us?

"DYK which means that I'm looking for FT work, and starting to look where we can trim our budget in the meantime...meaning cutting out day trips, overnights out town, and some of the eating out...

DYK will we miss all that? Yes. But the schooling is a priority here."

DYK Yeah, if it becomes apparent that we will have to send her elsewhere, we'll do what we have to do afford it?

DYK But I can't help but think at this time, that a lot of Maegan's problem is Maegan...not the school and not the teachers?

DYK She could probably get a decent education where she is, but she needs to apply herself?

DYK Which makes me wonder...will a private school actually help, if Maegan isn't going to apply herself?

DYK I had another serious talk with her about all this last night?

DYK She's heard most of it before, but I told her this time exactly what will happen if she doesn't get it together this year?

DYK So...only time will tell?
