1) sausage w/ peppers & onions. I've already sliced the sausage and cooked them in the oven. I am making the onions and peppers on the stove. I want to put it all together in a tin and then just reheat before serving. Will this make the veggies mushy? Any better suggestions before I finish assembling?
2) I am making ciopinno which is a fish stew over pasta (whole wheat). I've got the sauce simmering and the fish (Phil's freshly caught fluke) will go in at the end for 25 mintues. Can I make the pasta ahead? How far ahead and how do I keep it from getting sticky?
ciopinno over pasta grilled marinated chicken breasts sausage w/ peppers & onions (rolls on the side) green salad tomato, basil and mozzarella salad macaroni salad (hot dogs/hamburgers if kids or anyone wants one)
DYK But I do insist that we go out one day on the weekend so that I can have a break from cooking?
DYK We have our favorites...Jason's Deli has a really nice salad bar, love the fish at Bonefish Grill, the mexican salads at Chipotle and our favorite local Chinese restaurant? When we feel like being particularly bad, we'll go split an omelet and some regular pancakes at IHOP?
dyk, yea, I always think the same thing...about out growing friends.
dyk, I think the big thing is that we have gone in REALLY different directions
dyk, it's kind of cheesey, but I tend to think of friends/acquaintances as part of a big scarf...when you were 'finished' with a person, they formed a knot at the end of the scarf with a tassel hanging off. Kind of symbolizing how they were a part of your life and where they left off.

DYK it does sound like you don't enjoy time with this person
DYK if you truly did enjoy meeting up with him, re-living old times would be fun, not irritating
DYK you both have probably grown in different ways/directions and coffee every few years might be the way to go
DYK I've had that with people too -- the connection changes
DYK that sounds like fun Joy, I should check to see if there are any festivals around here
DYK I got to sleep in until 6:30!
dyk how can I make these two dishes in advance?

You should be able to
dyk maybe I'll just play it safe and cook the pasta before serving. Then just pour the fish and sauce over top.
dyk good idea on the peppers and onions. Thanks.
dyk if I should put tuna in my macaroni salad
dyk here is my strange/eclectic menu:
ciopinno over pasta
grilled marinated chicken breasts
sausage w/ peppers & onions (rolls on the side)
green salad
tomato, basil and mozzarella salad
macaroni salad
(hot dogs/hamburgers if kids or anyone wants one)
DYK No Trader Joe's down here...sniff, sniff...
