"dyk, but...I heard first hand that I am well thought of and highly regarded by a particular VP - a VP that I have a TON of respect for. He also told me that this feeling/impression is had by ALL of senior management."
DYK I'm thinking like Jamie, that this is your opportunity to advance, Elizabeth?
DYK I know it will be a tough busy season, but maybe there will be rewards this time?
dyk, there have been talks...but nothing has actually been said to ME by the people that have this kind of power
dyk, my coworker (who is most likely leaving) went on a 20 minute spiel/discussion with that VP...telling him that *I* was the one that should take my bosses job, that no one was more qualified than I am, that it's crazy that they hired/transferred 2 AVPs instead of promoting me or at least talking to me about it, etc.
dyk, it's important that all of senior management thinks highly of me. But it REALLY means something when someone who is my peer is telling someone in senior management that I should be promoted over them and become their boss.
dyk, there's hope. I told my favorite VP last night that I'm not leaving anytime soon, but that I'm also not doing cartwheels up and down the halls.
Past Races:
-Boston Run to Remember Half Marathon, 5/29/11 (2:35:11, no training!)
-Corporate Run, 3.5 miles 6/2/11 (36:38, 4 days after running the half!)
-BAA 10k, 6/26/11 (1:04:52, wanted to be under an hour...)
-Tavern to Tavern
dyk, there's more than a handful of unhappy people in my department, my group is just the tip of the ice berg.
dyk, 2 weeks ago, another AVP left, today is someone else's last day (a person who was being promoted to sup in February), yesterday someone gave her 2 weeks, my boss's last day is next Friday
dyk, 3 seasoned sups are frantically looking, another seasoned sup is half way out the door, 2 VPs are TICKED and if one leaves the other is following, and there's a few staff levels that are itching to leave but haven't yet.
dyk, to top it all off...one client group technically only has an AVP, ALL of the staff for that group has quit within a year of being hired.
dyk, so today we (all of the sups & AVPs) are having lunch with the head of Boston.

DYK we had a very nice dinner and Chad even had roses for me when I got home
DYK the couple next to us at the restaurant was celebrating their 30th anniversary- they were having a great time together, it was really heart warming to see!

DYK I want to hear about Sandy Hook; someone recently told me that's a nice day trip from here.
