DYK So if she loses band I will hate it and if she actually fails and has to repeat next year, I will hate that as well, but if it happens, I will not freak out about it?
DYK Rebekah, just a thought -- please remember, I do not have children, so may have no business making a suggestion
DYK if M does lose band, are you able to replace it with something that kinda forces her to focus on school work?
dyk the worst I remember is the Social Studies teacher who, at open house, told the parents that he understood about busy schedules what with activities and such, so he's accept homework whenever it got turned in, with no late penalties
She says she gives each student a progress report regardless of grade? This year I am going to have to demand a progress report from each teacher? I shouldn't have to demand, right?
DYK Lindsy, it's so good to see you around here. Your happiness just shines through your posts!
DYK I haven't been Facebooking at all... if only I could figure out how to Facebook in 10 minutes a day!! If I get a little more caught up at work, I will have to check out the pics of your cute fireman and his cute dog :)
dyk, I'm sorry you're going through this again...and after only a month of school!
dyk, when you finally get in touch with each of her teachers, ask if the progress reports can be mailed to you instead
dyk, even offer to provide the envelopes - addressed to your office or where ever you get your business mail
dyk, then next time Maegan says that teachers only send progress reports if you have less than a B you can say, 'well, according to this progress report you have a C'
dyk, not to giver Maegan even more chances since she's had so many already, but be sure to also double check on the policy regarding progress reports - from 6th grade on, we ONLY got them if we had a D or F in a class. You may have to request that they be sent no matter what the grade.
dyk, it's still a few years away (and I hope she turns around before then), but by either 11th or 12th grade progress were only given if asked for by the counselors/parents, and if the student was 18 they could say that they didn't want them sent home.
Past Races:
-Boston Run to Remember Half Marathon, 5/29/11 (2:35:11, no training!)
-Corporate Run, 3.5 miles 6/2/11 (36:38, 4 days after running the half!)
-BAA 10k, 6/26/11 (1:04:52, wanted to be under an hour...)
-Tavern to Tavern
DYK yay for going shooting! I will give you one unsolicited piece of advice: If you haven't really shot before and you are nervous about the noise or the recoil, see if you can try a 22 first. They are very fun and easy to shoot!
DYK and if you've done this before, forgive me for giving you unsolicited advice!! :)
