"DYK, how do they send the progress reports? Do they give them to the students to bring home, or mail? You may have to request that yours be mailed directly to you, or that you will pick them up at the school. Talk to the principle's office and tell them you want each teacher to deliver to their office, and you will pick up? Is that an option?"
DYK The student brings them home....thus the problem?
DYK I am going to call the school office in the morning to ask when Open House will be, so I will ask for the progress reports to be sent to the office so I can pick them up?
DYK They do mail the report cards...which I'm very thankful for?
"dyk, when you finally get in touch with each of her teachers, ask if the progress reports can be mailed to you instead"
DYK We have decided to give Maegan a few days to get all her progress reports home, then I will email her counselor and get her to get them for me?
DYK I'll be glad to go down there to pick them up instead of relying on them to mail them?
DYK At this point, I don't put much faith in the teachers/counselor to do anything extra like mailing the progress reports to me?
DYK Sad huh?
DYK Thanks for the info on the progress reports/report cards? I am not aware of what the policy is down here on that, but I'm definitely going to ask the counselor when I call tomorrow?
"dyk i would specifiy with teacher, that due to previous issues (and explain them) that you require a progress report (perhaps via email)"
DYK Yep, that's what I'm trying to do?
DYK I stressed this with Maegan's teachers in person last year, but it didn't help?
DYK She still brought home D's on her report card, with no interaction with the teachers?
DYK I know I am going to have to request the progress reports...I just don't have any faith that Maegan is going to bring them home?
DYK I think the best way to go about this is to have Maegan's counselor gather the progress reports for me? However she wants to send them to me or have me pick them up will be fine...as long as I get them?
DYK It's entirely possible that Maegan has been just forging our signatures on progress reports in the past, so the teachers didn't know we weren't aware of her grades?
So after landing my new job as a Wal-Mart greeter, a good find for many retirees, I lasted less than a day......
About two hours into my first day on the job a very loud, unattractive, mean-acting woman walked into the store with her two kids, yelling obscenities at them all the way through the entrance.
As I had been instructed, I said pleasantly, 'Good morning and welcome to Wal-Mart. Nice children you have there. Are they twins?'
The ugly woman stopped yelling long enough to say, 'Hell no, they ain't twins. The oldest one's 9, and the other one's 7. Why the hell would you think they're twins? Are you blind, or just stupid?'
So I replied, 'I'm neither blind nor stupid, Ma'am, I just couldn't believe someone slept with you twice. Have a good day and thank you for shopping at Wal-Mart.'
My supervisor said I probably wasn't cut out for this line of work.
dyk if you wanted to go hard core once and for all, you could deliver a letter to each teacher and CC the principle and counselor on it
dyk with the notice that if they cannot do XYZ you need to know within 48 hours via whatever way you want them to contact you - and if they do not comply and do not contact you - you will be contacting the superintendent.

DYK I did see that story!
My 1 day employment
