dyk You know if M is still pulling her not doing her homework in few months, I would sit her down and tell her you are waving your white flag.

"She has been in her room since, even though I went in 20 minutes later to "release" her and she is cleaning and organizing and her attitiude is MUCH improved"

DYK Can you come do this with Maegan?

DYK I just made her 'clean' her room over the weekend?

DYK You won't believe what all I found after she was supposedly finished?

dyk the first thing we did was purge her room down to a manageable amount

dyk right now her clothes are not in her room b/c she cannot handle herself with them - she throws them on the floor, they get dirty, wrinkled, she doesn't put them away I never know what is clean and what is dirty

dyk and we "help" her get started cleaning it up EVERY DAY

dyk Abi just needs a very firm, very strict representation of what we will and will NOT allow

dyk and she doesn't seem to retain it so we have to do it over and over again

dyk it's VERY hard for me to be so harsh and strict with her but I have to keep reminding myself that she needs it and without it she will not grow into the young woman we hope for her

"dyk well, this is NOT a rehearsal dinner, this is "just dinner before the rehearsal" and since the rehearsal dinner is traditionally paid for by the bride's parents, well, MIL didn't want to ask her parents to do that, so anyone/everyone invited pays for their own meal"

DYK I hope everyone invited knows they are expected to pay for their own meal?

DYK Doesn't the groom's parents pay for the rehearsal dinner?

DYK Just going by what my sister & BIL did for their sons?
