Stricter Phase One!

After several tough days where I kept falling off the SBD Band wagon, I feel I need to jump back into Phase One before going into phase two. I read a little bit more about Phase One from the book last night and I feel like I've been cheating a bit. I have been consuming more "non-sugar" foods such as candies and sweeteners so my sweet tooth really hasn't gone away. I also had cream with my coffee and such. So I'm converting to low fat milk for my coffee today and also some non dairy creamer (for special occasions). I'm going to go out this evening and buy some reduced fat mozzarella string cheese and some light laughin cow and lots of veggies! I realized I had been consuming a lot of "breakfast link" type foods which had carbs and such in them. I'm going to try and cut those out, rid myself of this sweet tooth, drink more water and exercise! I didn't lose a significant amount of weight before so I knew there had to be a reason. So I'm signing up myself for a stricter Phase One. Wish me good luck!

Ah, that sweet tooth.
Have you tried Sugar Free Jello??? That did the trick for me. Let's see here... remember is only food :) Once you get over the first week, at least for me, I settle down a bit and went about my business. Take care!
and lots of Luck to you!

Thanks for your great messages. When I'm out grocery shopping today I will defitely keep my eyes open for those treats! I just wanted to do a statistical check in so I can keep in check every week.
Weigh-in:
Now: 129.5
Goal: 120
I'm starting Phase One for real so I hope I can lose the 8-13 pounds in the first two weeks, as advertised!!

Well Monica, I think you need to set your sights a little lower.
It is do-able, and yes, it is advertised, but I know you know that our bodies are all different. Don't be so hard on yourself. You are doing an awesome job.
The claim "lose 8-13 in two weeks" is what causes the SBD to have negative rep. at times. This is not a gimmick, but a "way of life" for people. It's great! I didn't have a problem with the sugar alcohols in the candy (well, except my introduction to velamints last night), but some people have stalled weight loss due to the sugar alcohols. It might work better for you if you folled the sweet treat rule of thumb by keeping to 75 calories a day. Or, if you think you might go for the gusto, don't get them at all and see if that helps you out. Stick with us Monica. We are all rooting for you :)
Thanks for all your input! I went out today and bought: very good olive oil and balsamic vinegar, ff cream, sugar free frozen popsicles +fudgesicles, cottage cheese, veggies, chicken and such. I had a great dinner w/ my friends eating tons of grilled chicken and lots of greens. Then we stuffed ourselves with all too many a sugar free popsicles and fudgesicles. We were being silly and having fun but tomorrow I won't have so many of those dessert treats. Oh also in the afternoon I had 2 light string cheeses-- yum!

P.S.: I also ran for 1/2 hr today which helped my mood tremednously! Goal for tomorrow is less desserts, more water, exercise, continued veggies and olive oil. Wait, balsmaic vinegar is fine for phase one right?
I think you are really on the right track now Monica.
You go girl!!!
Susan :)
Thanks so much! I love balsamic vinegar w/ great olive oil.. mm!
Thanks!
