Are things that are "No Sugar added" okay for SBD? Like Jams, Hot Chocolate, etc? if so do we follow the 75 calorie rule or is there a carb rule to that? Any ideas how those things fit in to this WOE?

TIA

Hi can yu tell me about the 75 cal. of sugar that's allowed? Also, isn't it supposed to read "sugar free" not "no sugar added"?

Thanks,

Hi Maggie, do you have the "foods to enjoy" list?

I don't know about hot chocolate because I am thinking it made with powdered milk?? I haven't read the other posts yet, but I would save the Hot Chocolate until phase 2 IMO.

No sugar added tends to be more dairy products. Lactose is in the milk products, so there is naturally occurring sugars. You don't want any of the added sugars.

Fudgecicles

Yogurt

Milk

Hot Chocolate

Pudding (some brands)

These are things I have found so far.

Ga Beach Girl,

I was hoping you would post here. I wasn't sure about the hot chocolates for Phase 1. I know the object is to get rid of the cravings, cut out the good carbs, and go from there. I am afraid had I had hot chocolate, well, I might not have survived. lol.

...Better yet, make your own with skim milk, cocoa powder and Splenda. :)

ga beachgirl~

Please share...how much of each? We're finishing baseball season and in the middle of tourneys, playing every night. I've been so tempted with all the hot chocolate at the park, but haven't given in. I did check the grocery, but all the mixes had too much sugar, even the "no sugar added" varieties! Last night I took Alpine Spiced Cider sugar-free apple-flavor drink mix and had it instead. It was okay, but I can't wait for P2 so I can try your idea!

By the way, the cider is sweetened with aspartame, has 15 calories, no fat, 30 mg sodium, 4g total carbs. The box says the "apple juice solids contribute a trivial amount of sugar". That probably wasn't the best choice, but with my sore throat and sinus thing being out in the cold it sure felt good!

TIA,

Debbie

For something warm on a sore throat or on a cold day, have you tried hot tea?
