Please tell us about yourself....I am 30yrs. old. I'm divorced and a mom of a fantaskic son. He's 9 yrs. old and acts 15 somtimes! I started SBD on Dec. 8th. I could of started P2 the beginning of this week but am pretty much just following P1 still.
Do you work out of the home?
I do pilates and yoga at home and got the the local community center to work out with a friend. It helps to workout out of the home - for me anyway. Always have a lot to do so it's hard to stay focused.
Eat out a lot?
Since I've started SBD I haven't at out. Before, I was the type of person to just get something quick and never stopped and thought what I was putting in my mouth. SBD has made me cautious with what I eat now. And it's becoming a habit.

My biggest draw back is maintaining my goal and healthy eating. Other diets or changes would just be temporary.

Here's a little about me...
I am a 28yo military wife and mom of 2 kids, 5yo girl and 6yo boy.
I work part time as a receptionist for a financial services company. Because I only work PT (and we are a military family) we don't have the money to eat out a lot but we occasionally eat out with friends. I have not been on a work out schedule for quite some time. I know what your thinking..."but you only work PT, why not?" Well, in the mornings before I go to work (@ noon), I get my first grader off to school, I clean the house and cook dinner so it's ready when I get home. Then I get my kindergartener & myself ready to go. It's not a real great excuse but it's the truth. It's more hectic than it sounds :o)
As for what I like to do..relax, watch movies & play board games with my family. A buddy who is close to my age would be great. But to find more in common with me...I am a Christian mother, Military wife, Co-leader of my daughters Daisy scout troop & a native Californian living in WA state! I think that just about sums it up for me. Other than: with two kids I can get a bit neurotic, being a woman I can get a bit emotional and being a Christian I am very passionate!
If that didn't scare everyone off...I can't wait to meet my new buddy! :o)

Are you a mom? Ages of kids?
I am 27 years old, and a mother of two boys ages 2 and 6. I currently weigh about 185 and have been there since I had my youngest son. In March 1999 I had reached a weight of about 250, I was going through a divorce then and dropped down to about 145 by August of 2000 by stressing out, and eating better but very little exersise. This time I would like to do it with little to no stress and eating better with exersise. I have not been motivated this time around because my dh (got remarried 3 years ago on Jan. 3rd) says he loves how I look and he doesn't think I need to change.
Do you work?
I am a stay at home mom, I do babysit my niece who is also 2 during the week and I also temp for an office building as a receptionist occaisionally.
Eat out a lot?
Yes, we eat out a lot, we are very low income so we try to go out once a week with the kids for McDonalds or something, so our 6 year old doesn't feel like we can't do anything because of money. But I know it is BAD!
Do you exercise?
I was exercising a lot but for two or three months my membership to curves has gone unused because of getting sick (cold or flu) and my asthma has kicked up, so I will start going in Jan. plus I like doing pilates at home, but sometimes it does make me dizzy.
What do you like to do?
I love to be with my dh and kids, we like to go out and just drive around. We also have movie and pizza night once a week (that will be hard to give up). I love to be with my dogs and ferret and walking, but it is a bit too cold right now.
Thanks

I'm excited about this program and I hope I can see some results...I'm semi vegetarian (I eat dairy and seafood).
Hope to hear from someone soon!!! :) :)
Hi Jedi, I have a couple of tips for you that you could work in with your family activities!
"we try to go out once a week with the kids for McDonalds or something, so our 6 year old doesn't feel like we can't do anything because of money. But I know it is BAD!"
Actually, it's not that bad these days.

Hi Moonlight, welcome!

This is great, and it's what pretty much all of us do.

Thanks for the support....so today was day 2 and I managed to skip all sorts of "bad food" (muffines, cheese cake)...like I said I'm visting with relatives!! I do have a question tough, is it ok for me to drink nonfat capuccino? What other breakfast can I have besides eggwhites? is non fat yogurt good?
This is what I had today:
For B-fast: 2 egg whites with one slice of meatless ham. Coffee with 1%milk, and 3 glasses of water. I was preatty hungry by noon (we were going to have a late lunch) so I munched on one more slice of meatless ham and some celery. We went to an afhganistan place for lunch and I orderes a spinach plate and mineral water. I didn't eat the rice and instead had some lettuce salad with yogurt dressing. Mid afternoon I was starving and drank a non fat capuccino (tall, starbucks) and later ate a serving of Atkins Chips (it was the only snack on-the-go I could find with low carbs)...and I have to see what I'll be having for dinner...what to do you think?
Thanks!
Moonlight
A little bit about me...
I'm 28 and married for just over a year. My husband is one of the best things that has ever happened to me, but a major reason for going on the SBD, I have gained 20 lbs since we began living together 2 years ago. No kids yet, but 1 dog, 1 Australian sugar glider and some fish. We also have 2 very busy and different work schedules. I work anywhere from 50-70 hours (and sometimes more) a week and can't really plan on how late I will work. DH works either 3pm - 11pm or 11pm - 7am. It makes things like exercising and meal planning difficult to say the least. Some of the biggest difficulties I think I will face are combatting DH's sweet tooth - there is always something in the house for him which I never really want, but seem to eat anyway - and my love of pasta. It is my favorite "eating alone and don't feel like cooking" throw together meal.
I'm really looking forward to starting SBD, and to getting to know everyone here.
Jaime
