hi, i'm planning on starting the south beach tomorrow, and i was just wondering if the results in phase I are as dramatic if you only want to lose between 10-20 pounds? if you don't lose that much weight in the beginning, i just want to know now, so i don't get discouraged and stop. and is there anybody around who just wants to eat better and lose a few pounds who wants to be my buddy? i'm 24 and ready to REALLY get in shape, this time ;). thanks for the help!

Here's a helpful answer (ha!) - it's different for every one, regardless of their weight loss needs! It could go either way I think. I have a goal of 60 lbs, so I was a little dissapointed to have only lost 3lbs in the first week. But, I can't remember the last time I lost that much that fast, so I really can't complain! now my husband I expected to lose less 'cuz he's only got 15 to lose anyway - he lost 6 lbs in the first week! And no cravings for him either, go figure. Neither of us exercises yet.

Best wishes,

I think I'm losing weight.

I know your weight can fluctuate & you shouldn't weigh yourself all the time, but

I did

Started at 146 on Monday. This morn I was 138.5 !!!!!

Know that's probably not Fer sure, but in general, each time I weigh it is lighter.

So, I think I've lost some #s, not sure precisely how many, but HOW EXCITING!!!!

Also did measurements - tummy seems 3" less - is it possible?

other measurements look about 1/2" less.....

Could I be so lucky??????? It's encouraging anyway!
