Hey!

I just had a celery and one wedge of laughing cow cheese. My lips (mouth) are all swollen and kind of hurt.

Is that normal???

I would think not and the only time I have witnessed that kind of reaction has been in my child with a peanut allergy. You might want to take some Benedryl and if it gets worse call your Dr. Very strange... I have had the Laughing Cow rounds but not the wedges could there be something in it you haven't had before??

It's really weird. My lips/mouth gets all swollen or numb whenever I eat certain kind of fruits or veggies. I remember few times I ate apples and my lips would get swollen, but then other times, were all fine!

What other veggie can I eat with laughing Cow cheese instead of celery then? I'm on phase one. It was my first time eating laughing cow cheese and it's yummie!!!!

I think I did great today, for first time! Yah... 13 more days to go of Phase ONE!

Ooooh....that does sound like an allergy, then. I would make an appointment with your doctor and request allergy testing ASAP (it takes a while to get an appointment with an allergist, sometimes, so sooner is better). Some allergies can seem mild for a while, but then hit you just like that--stomach problems, cold and flu-like

Good plan! FOod allergies can be funny and very inconsistent so it would be good to know. ANy chance you are reacting to pesticides on the fruit? Definitely sounds like an allergy though and the lips hurting makes me nervous. Often the first sign of anaphylactic shock due to an allergy. Makes me feel better you are calling!!!!!

When I get sick of celery I switch to endive leaves.

Yep I agree about getting allergy tests, who knows, sometime in the future it could be much worse than just swollen lips and a mouth that hurts.

Be careful. Usually when your lips swell it is an indicator to food allergy (sometimes serious). If you want to try the Laughing Cow again, have it PLAIN just to make sure that it was not an ingredient in the cheese. Also have some Benedryl on hand for an emergency. My dh makes Laughing Cow/ham wraps and loves them!!!!!!!
