Going to Cancun...need cocktail ideas...
| Tue, 01-06-2004 - 4:20pm |
I'm leaving for Cancun tomorrow with my hubby. We are staying at an all-inclusive and I certainly want to enjoy....I'm going to do my best staying away from the foods that I know are damaging but I'm at a loss when it comes to cocktails. I know the best is red wine but I don't think I can stand to drink that all the time. ANy other drink suggestions that would help me out.????
Thanks

There really aren't any.
In the new South Beach book here are the new guidelines:
Beer is still not allowed
Liquors (gin, rum, vodka, whiskey) 1 1/2 oz. : Allowed
Rum & coke : Avoid (what about Diet coke with Rum- that might be okay)
Vodka & tomato juice : Limited
It then goes on to list all wines as being:
Hi Mel,
Yup, I've got the new book.
Hmmm, I think I might have to go out and get the new book.
Let us hear all about it when you get back! We'll be here to get you back on shore!
Debbie
Ohhhh, you lucky woman! I would tend to agree with the previous poster who said to just enjoy yourself while you are down there, and worry about the SBD when you return.......especially if it is an all-inclusive resort. Seriously, if you were to stay on the SBD while down there,
Enjoy your vacation !!!

But if you really want to be good, here's what the Good Carbs/ Good Fats book says about alcoholic beverages. Beer is the worst. Stay away from that, and everything else is OK in limited quantities. Gin, rum, vodka, and whiskey are all OK. Doesn't mention Tequila specifically, but you'll be in Cancun, so that gives it an automatic bye onto the OK list!
It doesn't mention the worm either, but I would count that toward your daily protein ;-)

Shan you are too funny, I love your reasoning and if I ever go on vacation I'm using it!
Worm = protein.... ROFLMAO!
