I read the entire book, and am currently on phase 1, day 5. I had no idea that you have to have veggies with breafast....I am not sure how I would even squeeze them down honestly, it is soooo hard for me to be excited about eating in the morning and I just barley got used to eggs! Please let me know how essential the veggies in the morning are, and where in the book this info. can be found.

Lots of love and luck to all skinny ladies to be!

Hi Skinnygirl!

Welcome to SBD! What have you been having for breakfast so far? I am also not used to the idea of veggies for breakfast...all my life I've known that breakfast foods include: toast, eggs, waffles, milk, cereal, coffee, etc. So it is still hard for me to incorporate veggies.

I usually have either eggs with meatless ham or light cheese for breakfast or NF yogurt (now it's ok!). And a good way to start adding veggies (I do it sometime) is drinking a V8. But if you have any more ideas I'd like to know. Thanks

Good Luck!

I just can't get a v-8 down - Yuck! Sometimes I put some peppers, mushrooms & onions in my eggs.

I have been eating LOTS of eggs in the morning, and in the mid morning I go for some cheese and nuts. I think that adding veggies in the eggs would be a great way to get them "down" in the morning. I will try it! If I were to be totally honest, I connot wait until I am on phase 2 and can start adding some healthy carbs in the morning, I know that it will make a huge difference in how I feel about eatring breakfast.

Hang in there everyone!!!

If you eat enough veggies throughout the day, there is no real reason to have them for breakfast. I have the same problem, and I posted somewhere on this board last week about it and got good feedback. I have a glass of tomato juice, a couple of eggs, and sometimes some Canadian bacon. Sometimes I have a spinach omelette. I love veggies and eat lots of them--just not at 7 in the morning!! I chop up green and red peppers, radishes, cucumbers, a little bit of green onion, and some zucchini every couple of days and have this mixture on hand for salads, and especially for mixing into cottage cheese. I don't particularly love lettuce, so my "salads" sometimes just consist of these veggies, a tiny bit of lettuce, and then tuna or chicken. I also add a little avocado. I'm getting off the subject, but with a little creativity you can avoid veggies in the morning! Good luck,

Ellen

try spinach in your salad, instead of lettuce

I put my veggies in an omelet usually. Also I make Spinach Quiche or veggie. Or you could have the 6 or 8 oz. glass of V-8.

I'm sure you'll get lots of great ideas from everyone!
