Why can't we have low carb, low sugar and low fat products on phase one? Is it because they're probably too proccesed?

I am usually out all day...what are good on-the-go snacks )besides nuts and string cheese) is there anythig I can get from the "streets"? How about the famous "bars" (like The Zone) is eating 1/2 (or less) of them good?

The thing is that I'm always out durong the day, and the people I'm with are always prdeing stuff from Starbucks, or buying snacks ...and I always end up having just coffee. NOw I have a NF capuccino for added nutrition (milk).

Any on the go ideas?

The beach people will probably suggest a celery stick!! I noticed they always suggest celery for any kind of snack question. so why don t you buy a big bunch of celery and carry it around with you (just kidding)

I did not find any snack I can buy that is beach friendly. Except the veggie box some stores carry and be careful it should not have carrot. so I dont think there is anything else :~( but good news phase I is only 2 weeks.

When I go out with friends I have a coffee or diet drink or sparkling water with lime while they have all sort of bagels and muffins and drinks and worst of all nachos and cheese... It is ok you will soon get used to it.

Hope some expert dieter pops up and gives us an answer

Im not sure what kinds of things you like or if you would be willing to carry one of those small igloo coolers but if you are here are a couple of ideas:

Deviled eggs (Boil eggs, slice in half longways, remove yolks and mash them and blend with mayo, salt, pepper, paprika, minced celery (gasping in horror). Not as good as they are with sweet pickle relish but I always feel like its a special occasion when i eat them lol.

Amy's ham rolls - spread low fat cream cheese or laughing cow on a slice of ham. top with a canned asparagus tip and roll. Yum

I believe spinach dip is acceptable. Use it to dip fresh veggies like cauliflower or broccoli.

And a question. Are pork rinds allowable in phase one? Not sure right off hand, but if they are, they arent too bad with the dip either. (for those crunchy carb craving lol)

If I think of anything else I'll come back and post them. Hope any of those help a little.

Truly,

Amy

I posted a phase 1 snack list I found in this Phase 1 area.... but other than that, I just learned that Laughing Cow Light Cheese doesn't have to be refrigerated.

Hi and thanks for the feedback. I know I'll have to bare it for two weeks, the problem is that I have done the first two weeks so badly, that staring today I am re-starting. So I'm looking at the last 2 weeks as a arm up, and today is my oficiall day one, phase one.

Wish me luck!!

B-fast: 2 egg whites, 1 slice 2% reduces fat cheddar, 1/2cup coffee with 1% milk.

NO MILK!!!!!!

You are not allowed milk in the first phase.

I have jello sugar free - that's allowed.

Did you read the book? It explains very well about food absorbtion, blood sugar etc.

Pretty much, all non-vegetable carbs sabbotage this diet. And I am not sure why the dairy is a no-no but we can have eggs, but it says no milk of any kind. That includes the coffee. It s*cks, but if you want the max results you have to do it.

You just have to bring things to work for the 2 weeks. It's not THAT much effort for the results.

String cheese, nuts, sugar free jello, a boiled egg with some salt and pepper, or jsut munch on some cold cuts.

Pork rinds aren't a part of the South Beach Diet on any phase.

This was very true, until just recently.

Yes, it's because they are too processed.

Be careful with jerky because it can be full of sugar.
