I'm starting Phase I tomorrow. Is anyone out there starting tomorrow too? Maybe we can buddy up and keep each other going... :)
I've been reading the message boards for a few days now (and the book too), so now I feel I have a good handle on what I will need to do. Thanks everyone very much for all your help thus far! I felt that I should start on a Monday, so here goes. :) I'm going grocery shopping for all the wonderful SBD-friendly food in a little while and making sure I get a few of those allowed sweet treats just in case!
A little about me - I'm 24, NY/NJ area. I have about 25 lbs to lose, which would bring me to a realistic weight for my height. Hopefully this diet will help, although I'm a little worried about being able to sustain this way of eating for a long period of time.
Everyone who's starting tomorrow - just respond so I know you're out there! A little info about yourself would be cool too. :) What's your meal plan like for tomorrow - I'm still thinking about mine.

I didnt wait until tomorrow. I started today, but hey, whats one day, right? Would love to buddy up with you if you cant find someone starting tomorrow.
I am a 31 yo married mother of 3. Started gaining weight after the birth of my first child and a steady 10 pounds a year since (give or take 11 years), minus the weight loss I experienced during my following pregnancies. I am currently 250 with a goal of 150. Not sure how realistic that is, since I havent been 150 since I was 18 lol. But wow did I look great back then!
Hope shopping doesnt send you into a seizure. When I got my total at checkout yesterday I thought I was going to have an aneurysm rofl.
Truly,
Amy
Let's start this thing together. :) From what I've read on the boards so far, talking about the diet and having someone to be accountable to if you cheat seems to have helped many people. We can do this via this board or by email. My email is azazela@eden.rutgers.edu.
Here is my plan for tomorrow:
breakfast:
scrambled egg/omlette thingie with veggies (onions, mushrooms, peppers, also maybe spinach and broccoli) and cheese
water and/or tea (i can't stomach tomato juice)
morning snack:
moz cheese stick
lunch:
tuna (from a can) mixed with a salad (lettuce, tomato, cucumber, scallions, radishes, broccoli, etc.) and Newman's italian dressing (1g sugar per serving)
afternoon snack:
almonds
dinner:
don't know yet, probably a stir fry
dessert - planning to try one of the ricotta dessert thingies
I will also take extra snacks with me just in case to make sure I don't go hungry, maybe a SF jello or hummus and veggies to dip in it. I'm not sure how many bottles of water I can carry with me (I think more than one might be a little incovinient), but I'll try to drink as much as possible.
Good luck ladies!
I, too am beginning Phase I tomorrow, and would love to have a Buddy or Buddies to go along with.
I am 31, with 2 kids. I was recently cured of Thyroid Cancer, so I decided it was time to get rid of some of this weight. My thoughts were, I have beat cancer, so it sure would be stupid to die early from heart disease or any weight related disorder!
I've been dieting for about 2 months already, and have lost 20 pounds so far. I've got a long ways to go though.
I'm currently at 262, and would like to get down to 160.
My e-mail is Savadafre@comcast.net , if anyone would like to write.
Otherwise, I will be seeing you on the boards.
Take Care,
Donelle
I'm starting today too. I'm 29 years old, married with one son who's 11 months old. I'm looking to lose about 35 pounds.
Here's my menu for today:
Breakfast:
2 veggie quiche cups
2 slices canadian bacon
1 cup coffee w/splenda & fat free 1/2 & 1/2
Morning snack:
10 cherry tomatoes
motzy stick
Lunch:
tossed salad w/turkey & low fat cheese
balsamic vinaigrette (homemade)
sf jello
Afternoon snack:
Cashews
Dinner:
Chicken dijon (this is an Atkins recipe, but it looks perfect for Phase 1)
Salad w/Ken's Caesar dressing (o g sugar)
probably another veggie - not sure yet
Good luck to all - Let's do this! :)
I'm starting today also. I am 38 years old and need to lose 60 pounds. I was always so small until I had my son 13 YEARS ago!!! My husband doesn't think I can do this because I have said I was going to lose weight so many times and never did it. Actually his saying he didn't believe it has motivated me. I am going to prove him wrong. He even told me this morning when I was eating my eggs and bacon he never heard of someone losing weight eating that for breakfast. I told him to just wait and see. I am still confused about what all I can eat. I can't follow the meal plans because I don't like most of the stuff on them. I will probably be needing lost of advice. Would like to keep in touch with you guys.

I'm not following the meal plans either - I can't eat shellfish, and a lot of the other things don't appeal to me. What I did was go through the meal plans and find things I DID like, and started there. There is a list in the book about "foods to enjoy/foods to avoid" That helps also. I basically made my own meal plans based on those two things.
HTH!
I am usually not very good with diets but I hope to make this one work...
Looking forward to filling you guys in on my progress...

I am starting phase I today as well. I am 31 with 2 boys. My goal is to lose about 50lbs. Hopefully this diet will work. I find it a bit confusing, and I dont like fish! If anyone has any ideas i would sure appreciate it.
