I'm starting Phase I tomorrow. Is anyone out there starting tomorrow too? Maybe we can buddy up and keep each other going... :)
I've been reading the message boards for a few days now (and the book too), so now I feel I have a good handle on what I will need to do. Thanks everyone very much for all your help thus far! I felt that I should start on a Monday, so here goes. :) I'm going grocery shopping for all the wonderful SBD-friendly food in a little while and making sure I get a few of those allowed sweet treats just in case!
A little about me - I'm 24, NY/NJ area. I have about 25 lbs to lose, which would bring me to a realistic weight for my height. Hopefully this diet will help, although I'm a little worried about being able to sustain this way of eating for a long period of time.
Everyone who's starting tomorrow - just respond so I know you're out there! A little info about yourself would be cool too. :) What's your meal plan like for tomorrow - I'm still thinking about mine.

Hi all,
I too am starting the SBD today.
I can so sympathize! My hubby has kind of held his tongue because he knows how important it is to me to lose weight this time. I started having blood pressure and other health problems this year and it scared me.
He is thankfully supportive and doesnt complain too much about the meals I cook now lol. I make sure to make something for just them. Last night I added mashed potatos for him and the kids, tonight I had a taco salad and they got to eat theirs in taco shells. (And boy did all that crunching KILL me. lol)
Wish I could see the look of wonder on his face when he sees that you CAN eat and lose weight at the same time! hehe. You go girl!

Amy- Day 2/Phase 1
The upside - I think everyone said that it goes away after a day or too and usually happens because your body is getting used to having no sugar and possibly less caffiene. Also make sure you drink lots and lots of water! Take it easy! It'll get better. :)
So day ONE is almost over. How did everyone do? :)
1) what was the hardest thing about today?
2) what was the easiest?
3) what if any new foods did you discover for yourselves through this diet?
4) any ideas for rewards? daily, weekly, monthly, etc
my answers:
1)getting enough water in. I drank a lot, but not enough just yet. Trying to figure out just how many bottles of water I can carry with me. I'm a grad student with no access to water coolers, out all day and tap water in NJ is just plain nasty. :( Any tips will be appreciated!
2)No cravings today for anything "evil". ;) But then again, I didn't have to watch anyone eat something I like, but am not allowed to have. I hope the no cravings thing continues
3)Ricotta cheese is really yummy! I don't think I've ever had it before other than inside lasagna. The vanilla ricotta creme is pretty darn good. I'm looking into other things I can do with Ricotta. Found a recipe for pancakes somewhere in the recipes part of the SBD board
4) I'm still thinking about that. I usually reward myself with food, but I'm trying to get away from that... Need to think of inexpensive treats for not cheating!
I'm looking forward to reading about your days!

I actually tried starting SBD in December but felt so bad on the second day, tehn forgot my lunch and ended up eating fried deli stuff (nothing else was open). My headaches and sick feeling went away almost immediately, so I talked myself into waiting until after the holidays. This time I don't have any reason to delay. Im determined to make it through detox this time!!! Im assuming that after 2 or 3 days the headaches should be gone. Please tell me im right! lol.

Phase 1/ Day 2
1) The hardest thing to deal with was the headache. I feel like someone is slamming a sledge hammer into my temples! Please let this go away soon (its not as bad on day 2...yet)
2) The easiest was not spending the time rummaging through the cupboards for munchies and fighting with hubby over who's turn it is to run across the street to the convenience store to get our daily fountain drinks
3) New foods? None yet. Ive just modified the usual stuff to be SBD friendly
4) Rewards... my biggest reward right now will be getting rid of the headache. After that I'll probably need to come up with something. lol
