How is every one doing?? I must admit I am really looking forward to the next 7 days flying by...but made it through the first week so I am really determined to keep it going for another 7 days!! The hardest part was skipping the weekend wine :-(. That and the constant eggs for breakfast. But feel pretty good! Are you with me??

I'm still here! I also started on 1/5 and doing well. I thought this weekend would be incredibly hard, but I have to admit, it wasn't that bad. Before the SBD we would eat out or get carry out twice every weekend. So I thought for sure I was going to cheat this weekend. But I didn't! I stuck with it. I think that now I feel like I've gone this far that I can't sabotage my efforts now.

The hardest hours for me are the TV hours in the evenings - you know, the hours where you sit with a bag of chips and snack while vegging in front of the TV. To battle this, I've started watching TV while I'm on my treadmill. I've saved my 30 pistachios snack for TV time, and spread it out to make the snack last while I'm watching tv. I've also picked up knitting to keep my hands busy during that time. So far, so good! I think I've lost about 5-6 pounds so far.

I'm hanging in there but the weekend was really tough, particularly not having my Friday night red wine. A friend of mine and I went to a Mexican restaurant, and before we sat down we asked the waitress to not bring the chips. She thought it was great - she called it a "pre-emptive strike". It was my husband's birthday and I had a tiny piece of cake, but I felt that was fine...very different from having one piece and then another, and maybe even another...to be able to have a limited quantity was a big accomplishment for me. I am totally sick of eggs, I may never eat an egg again. I walked between 1.5 and 2.5 miles everyday last week, two yoga classes, and my scale says I've lost 3 pounds, I find it hard to believe but it's amazing and encouraging. So it sounds like we're all in the same boat, and doing great - yay team!

I can't believe how easy this has been. The only real temptation I have had to cheat was Friday afternoon. We had a retirement party for somebody at work and the potato chips and cake were screaming my name. But, luckily, there was a veggie platter full of celery and cherry tomatoes. I just filled my plate with turkey and veggies and then stayed away from the food tables. The weekend wasn't bad at all. I was able to stick to the eating plan, but I had trouble keeping up with the 64 oz of water. My body really felt it by Sunday evening - I downed about 8 or 9 pints of water between dinner and bedtime and could have drank more. The great news... I think I lost about 9 pounds this week. I didn't weigh myself last Monday, but I have a very good idea of where I started. Only 21 more pounds to go! I hope this week goes as smoothly as last week did. I am looking forward to sweet potatoes in phase 2.

Wow!!!! We are doing great! It's so nice to see everyone's positive experiences. Let's all keep up the good work for week 2. Then we can all celebrate with a glass of red wine.

Go us!

Oh yeah, I'm with you. I'm determined to do it too. Going to Hawaii in Feb and want to get some weight off. Trying to do some exercising too. Lost 4 lbs but had a few things I shouldn't have had. I'm just going to be happy with that. Hang in there and let's see what we can do in week 2. Good luck!

Hi everybody,

I'm just going into week two and am sooooo glad to find others who are where I am. I had to go out of town last week twice, so looked at keeping with SBD as a game and did great. Haven't weighed, but clothes are looser! If you are on the road and have to get fast food, I found that Hardee's has a low carb burger (wrapped in lettuce and then paper to hold) and apparently so do some other chains. I have to admit it's hard to eat the chicken fajita stuff out of a tortilla with your fingers, though! Forgot to get a fork!

Anyway, congrats to all - am looking forward to being home/office this week.
