My husband and I just started phase 1 and although I feel fine, he is complaining that he is constantly hungry. He eats until he is full at meals and then has two snacks but can't seem to get enough to quell his rumbling stomach between meals. How much is to much for snacking? Are there any foods that are really filling? He broke down last night and ate a sandwich on bread. I would hate to see him fail....HELP!

He can have anything he wants as long as it's from the approved food list and doesn't have a limit.

You might also make sure he is drinking enugh fluids, especially water. Sometimes our body thinks its hungry when what we really need is fluids. Try having him increase his fluid intake. Just an idea.

I've been kinda hungry or rather "munchy" too, especially during the times of day that i'd usually snack on junk. :) So I've been eating extra snacks - cheese, veggies with hummus, etc. These have no limit and have good stuff in them that we need. :) Your husband should try finding something on the allowed list that he really really likes (something that has no limit) and eat that instead of a sandwich. I haven't tried turkey roll ups yet, but they sound like they'd be a good snack for him - they're almost a sandwich! :)

There is no true portion control.

Eat from the approved list as much as he needs.

Also, are you coming up with things that you both like from the approved list, you don't have to limit yourself to their recipes.

My fiance and I made a great stirfy last night with chicken and veggies usuing oil, soy sauce and some garlic and onion. He heaped it on my plate and it was very filling... and tasty. Keep the easy and tasty things around so you can grab them, Mozzarella string cheese sticks, no sugar added fudgecicles, sugar-free jello, hummus w/celery, pistachios.

The turkey roll ups seem to satisfy me the most for snacks. Tell him to eat all he needs. If like my dh he will probably like the turkey plain!
