Day 3
6
Wed, 01-14-2004 - 6:41am
it is now the beginning of day 3...

Day 2 went by fairly easily, (while I'm at work ie) As soon as I leave work on the drive home I find myself wanting to stop for French Fries (I never ever do that normally)...Home poses the great struggle. Everywhere I look, there are forbidden foods, but with 4 young kids and a husband that likes to snack I am not able to just throw them out.

However, I have been strong, Whenever I get the urge to have a cracker, I have 2 -3 almonds that seems to work so far. Yesterday I had a red snapper filet with asparagus...i have never been a dessert eater so I haven't tried that ricotta dessert yet. Anyway...Hopefully Day 3 will go smoothly.

Yay! Day 3! I think the key is to be hyped up about SBD. I've been checking the message boards as much as I can, to get me more motivated and to see with my own eyes that this actually works for people. I haven't thought through the menu for today yet, but I think I decided yesterday, during dinner, that I no longer like cooked salmon. :( Maybe we'll go for sashimi today. :) Raw salmon, I love! Also, is smoked salmon ok? Coz I love that too, although it can get a little pricey. :)

I'm also finding that I'm eating lots of snacks - more than 2 a day. Especially at night, when I'm used to munching on stuff in front of the TV. I hope that goes down a little. I keep to veggies and hummus or cheese. So I think I'm ok.

And I tried the no sugar added fudgesicles last night - YUMMY! All who haven't tried them - should. One of those (they're little) is 45 calories. Perfect!

Have a great day everyone! And remember lots of water!

Well I am jsut starting day 3. I have to admit I got on the scale today. I have eaten a fair amount of food here and so I had to check to make sure I wasn't going UP in weight!

So after 2 days... I lost slightly over a pound (1.5 pounds in my mind). My poor fiance was ordered to get on his knees in the bathroom and tell me if it was a pound... or 1.5 pounds. He looked up and said "1 and a half!" Of course he just wants to make me feel good. lol :-) But the point is.. I am losing ont his diet after 2 days and i have not exercised so... It gives me motivation to stick with it.

I also love the no sugar added fudgesicles. You can only have 1 a day though because they have 45 calores. And you're not supposed to have more then 75 cals of sugar free sweets.

My fiance is a great guy. He has helped me with my diet and even though he doesn't want to be on it, he helps me come up with meals we can cook together. So we had a chicken/veggie stirfry yesterday, and he had rice and I didn't and he heaped a lot of it onto my plate so I wouldnt' be hungry. And he brainstorms snacks for me (even though most of them are a no-no).

Just a note, I got almonds that were smokehouse salted or something and thought hey were OK and then read they were not.

Day 3!! YAY! I have more energy (thus far) than the past two days. I avoided the McDonald's temptation yesterday. I went out to a Reel Moms movies with a mommy friend and her two sons and we stopped to get Happy Meals for them. She is so great! She didn't get McDonald's. Instead ate a low carb meal with me when we got back to her house (I had packed my lunch in a mini cooler).

Today I had 2 hard boiled eggs, half of pack of frozen spinach, and tomato juice (the Day 3 menu)...it was yummy! I found some calorie-free, everything-free spicy mustard at the supermarket...it gives a little zing when I need it.

I have been tracking my calories/protein/fat/carbs on www.fitday.com. Yesterday I had less than 25 grams of carbs and over 120 grams of protein! Wow!

Feeling good!! Let's keep it up guys! I am not weighing myself until Friday but I know by my belly that I lost a pound or two!

:)

I am on day three as well. Yesterday was particularlly hard because my office put out fresh baked cookies from the bakery and then ordered chinese food for the evening meeting but i asked for steamed chicken and broccoli and didn't use any sauce, only cracked pepper. I couldn't believe i had that much will power. I actually wasn't hungry at all yesterday and had to force myself to eat the snacks and some of my lunch but after i had dinner i was starving and had to have another of those turkey roll ups when i got home. i don't know if this was bad or not. today i'm pretty hungry already but i had a little less eggs than the last two days and i have the mid-morning snack coming up soon so it shopuld be ok. i'm glad i found this board because it will help motivate me. i really only want to lose 10 pounds. I'm mainly doing this diet with my boyfriend because he wants to lose more and needs the motivation and support and i was eating so unhealthy i didn't think it could hurt me as well.

Day two and three required a little more willpower/snacking for me too. My office put out donuts and bonbons. I love chocolate and could eat it all the time. Hmmm, that was what motivated me to make some changes. Unfortunately, today my buddy at work who inspired me to get on the ball decided that she was going off the diet. She was getting headaches and is breastfeeding so really shouldn't be losing lots of weight.

I'm so impressed with those who can feel the weight loss already. That tells me they are doing so well. I can't tell anything yet. Did get a run back into the routine though. Only three weeks until running becomes a habit again.

Best of luck to all going into day 4.
