can't seem to do it...

It seems that I can't get past "day 3" of phase I without scrweing up. I mean the first two weeks where like this: goog, good, oops slipped, get back on. Good, good, slipped, and on and on. I didn't realize this until yesterday. I had just oficially RE started my "on again, off again" relationship with the SBD 2 days ago; and yesterday, I slipped...when I saw my food diary I realized that I actually HAD a pattern!!

I know it's something that I have to conquer. I'm on day 4. I will end the first half of phase one with no more interruptions. Cheer me on!!

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I know I have to look at this (SBD) more as a "learning how to take care of myself and my body" more than "just a diet". But, don't I have the willpower????

P.S. The most frustrating this is. That I have started this way of eating almost a month ago and still haven't seen any changes. And since then I haven't had a bite of fruit, pasta, yams (never ate potatoes and rice, anyway). My slips? Chocolate. Desserts (only once).

I can so sympathize with you! I did the same thing on all the other diets I tried. Im not sure whats different this time, but I have to tell you I am so determined this time that I dont think Adonis dangling truffles in front of me could steer me off course lol. (I tried this same diet last summer when it was still to be found for free online and failed miserably.)

How much do you have to lose? Have you examined your reasons for wanting to lose weight? Last time I was more interested in how I looked. Since then Ive developed some weight related health problems and have felt really, really bad. So that is my focus. Im sure your motivations and 'want to' are a big part of it. Maybe you can make a list of all the reasons you want to lose this weight and put it up somewhere you can see it easily, or even one in every room.

One thing I have learned. The only time you fail is when you quit. No matter what you are doing great just feeding yourself well. As for the lack of weight loss, are you drinking plenty of water? Alot of those diet drinks have quite a bit of sodium, which will make you retain water. Im pretty sure most of my loss this far is water weight, as I spend alot of time visiting the rest room lol. If you are exercising you may also be exchanging weight loss for muscle gain which is wonderful. Do you measure?

Just a couple things to think about. Hope something here helps a little. Keep up the great work. And dont let a little slip discourage you. Trust me. When I quit last summer I was 235. Now im up to 250! lol, so now im playing catch up!

Truly,

Amy

Just because you slip up you don't have to go back and start over.

Thanks to both of you,

Yes I drink a lot of water, not in excess, but about 64oz. a day. I actually like water (lol). I don't have a scale so I actually use the messuring tape. One of the things is that I don't have THAT much weight to loose (18lbs). I am excersising, but I always have. It's not something new for me. And I have been thinner before, so I know that this wheight came from eating too much junk.

Reasons?

1) I know I look better. (vain I know, but my face gets thinner and I like how I feel about myself).

2) I have pcos (poly cystic ovaries)

My slips are usually chocolate and desserts. That's it. It may seem easy....actually as I write it I can see just how easy it actually is (blushing). I can't thriw anything out cause I am visting my parents for 2 months (I'm living in south america and am doing a project back here in the states).
