How are things going for you? This is my second time on Phase I and I'm finding it a lot easier than the first time. I can't believe we are into day 5 already!
Beware of the weekend!!! Stay strong!
And don't forget the water! Great for flushing out the toxins and the sodium!

Weekends are the hardest!
Please be sure to include salt (don't shy from it), especially during phase 1.
This from southbeachonline's Daily Dish:
Don't Skimp On Salt
(Published 7/10/03) If you're feeling tired, achy, or just plain sluggish, try adding salt to your diet to help maintain body fluid. When cutting back on carbs in Phase 1, it's possible to lose body fluid and experience dehydration, as well as hypoglycemia (too-low blood sugar). Once the body adjusts, however, energy levels increase. Until then, Dr. Agatston recommends getting plenty of fluid (eight glasses of water a day), eating low-glycemic carbs, and adding salt to your diet to restore energy.

I started on Jan 12th and I got through the weekend with a little incident. :)
Last night, my hubby and I went to dinner and the movies with another couple. I chose Japanese hibach becasue I would be able to eat the veggies, steak, chicken, and shrimp meal and be full instead it was too crowded and went to get Italian. I WAS GOOD!!!!
I didn't have bread (and they were chowing on it with tons of butter), I had a salad with balasamic vinaigrette, ordered a diet Coke, had chicken and sauteed broccoli...and had a bite of my galpal's chhesecake--I had to!! Everyone else had pasta, bread, and fried appetizers. -- What I usually get...is fried calamari, a few Cokes, gnocchi with alfredo sauce, lots of bread and butter, and tiamisu for dessert
Are you using fitday.com? It helps so much to put in perspective what I am eating. I did it before I started SBD and 75% of my diet was carbs?!?!?!
I am still feeling "hella good"!!
Aliah :)
Good for you for resisting all of temptation this weekend. I had a bit of temptation too. We were at the mall at lunchtime and dh wanted to eat there. I had stirfried beef and greens (probably not fried in the best oil), but it beat all the burgers and fries as choices. Ordered sesame chicken and when I got it, it was covered in a sweet sauce of some kind, so I gave it to dh. Apart from that, I amazed myself and managed to stay on track. This while everyone else in the house is eating bread, pasta, etc. and dh is having wine and an after dinner liquer.
I'm feeling really good about SB. My waist is definitely shrinking. I think I'm down about 4-5 pounds. Only one week left to go!!! I'm going to make sure that I don't make the same mistake as last time though. I want to have a really set game plan for re-introducing carbs. Last time, I added good carbs with abandon and it was a slippery downhill slope if you know what I mean!
I have Fitday on my desktop. Discovered it last year when I got really serious about losing some pounds. I like to use the part that shows if you are getting your daily requirements of vitamins and minerals! But, I haven't been using it while on SB. I have been journalling my food though which Dr. A doesn't recommend.
I'll be glad to get back to routine tomorrow. I find my workouts end up going out the window on the weekend!!!
Have a great week.
