I can't stand the ricotta - it actually made me vomit. What else can we have? I don't care if it even seems remotely like a snack but I guess we have to have something to keep losing weight. Any suggestions??? Thanks.

I am so sorry you didn't like it! Did you put splenda/equal in it w/ vanilla? I LOVE it! Taste like pudding to me. I think I am eating too much of it! Today I added a little cinnamon. yum.

Have you tried sugar-free jello? There are supposedly sugar free chocolates out there, but I have not tried them.

Is it sweets you want? If you want salty stuff, the roasted garbanzo beans are great!

I'm so happy to hear you say that. Ok, I'm not happy for you, but I'm selfishly glad! LOL I think ricotta is nasty and those ricotta cremes make me sick too! I didn't vomit but I did an awful lot of dry heaving. I tried every recipe I could find for them too. EW!

Anway the no added sugar fudgecicles are really good. As are the SF jello. That's what I'll have for dessert. I miss ice cream, but i'll live!

Thanks for your help. I thought that we were supposed to match the ricotta in fat count and carbs. Just wondering.

Hahaha! You're not the only one! I hate it too! When I first made this ricotta creme, I thought it was going to taste pretty good but it was yucky! I couldn't swallow it anymore! Yeah it made me retch! But you can eat jello (sugar free), popsicle (sugar free), fudgicles (no sugar added), and other members of SBD will give you more suggestions! I stick with fudgicles!

At first I didn't like the ricotta creme desserts either. Everyone here really liked them so I gave them a try. I think it was the texture more than anything that I didn't care for. I added a spoonful of cool whip free to it and it made it creamier and sweeter. But really I like the SF jello. Once in a while I'll have a piece of sugar-free chocolate from Russell Stovers. But only one piece. If you have too much it can upset your stomach and give you gas (just beware). There are a lot of recipes out there to help with sweet cravings. The peanut butter cookies and there are others I can post if you need some ideas. You're not just limited to the recipes in the book. As long as the food and quantity is SBD friendly you can make your own snack/dessert recipes. Mix up your own things and enjoy!

Just in case you were feeling froggy and wanted to try again....

Use Polly-O part skim. Any other tastes awful and has too much grit. Store brands are the worst!

Use unsweetened chocolate powder and splenda. Use vanilla or other extract or Davinci's syrups. My favorite is all of the above and adding peanutbutter.

The key is to put it in a food processor and blend the heck out of it until it reaches pudding consistency.

HTH if you every want to try again.

Have you tried using nuts and covering them with something? Today, I made splenda and cinnamon pecans. Use 1 egg white and 1tsp water to coat 4 cups of pecans. Add 1/2 cup splenda and 1 tbs cinnamon. You can do the same with splenda and chocolate powder too.
