I'm confused about whether to move on to Phase 2, or repeat Phase 1 again for two weeks. Can anyone steer me in the right direction? My understanding of SBD is that the most dramatic weight loss should occur during Phase 1 and that weight loss will take longer during Phases 2 and 3?  I don't have that much to lose....maybe it takes longer if you don't have that much to lose? Also, I have started exercising again.....dance aerobics twice a week for an hour and ice-skating once a week for 45 minutes.

I need some advice on what to do from seasoned SBDers. So far, I don't find the diet too restrictive (except, of course, for the no alcohol policy during Phase 1.....I miss my glass of wine with dinner every night!).

Megs, BIG CONGRATS on your 5 lb. weight loss. I started the SB last autumn and lost 2 lbs the first wk. on Phase 1 and the second wk the same so I stayed on Phase 1 for an additional week and lost another 2 lbs.(Total of 6 lbs.) I think it all up to you as we are all different. I stayed on the third week to see if I could lose a little more, but I was glad when I finally finished with Phase 1 as I was longing to bring fruit back into my diet. I know Phase 1 is comfortable and phase 2 get a little scary at the beginning adding those carbs back, but remember do it slowly watch and monitor the carbs you eat, this way if you see a gain, you can take those carbs out and try new ones.

Speaking about only a few pounds to go, don't get too discourage when the pounds start coming off slowly. My weight is coming down slowly, Dr.Agatston said in the daily dish that if the weight slow down its a possiblity that you hit your target weight or there is a bad carb sneaking back into the diet.

Going into Phase 2 you can have your wine for dinner again. Hope that helps. Hugs Maryann

I only lost 6 pounds on P1. I stalled a week or so on P2 and then took off another 4 in 2 weeks. I am currently maintaining and kinda alternating between P2 and P3 and next week I will resume P1/P2 to get those last 5 pounds off. (I've been lazy what can I say!!!)

But I do think that the less you have to lose, the longer it will take. I think 5 lbs., for someone who has not much to lose, is a good thing.
