well, i am on day 10 of phase 1 and unfortunatly it is that time of the month for me starting today. my problem is that i have intense cravings for chocolate and sweets. I was watching the food network last night and i almosst ordered cookies online. i find that when i have chocolate it helps with my cramps whicvh are intense. also, i can't really eat ruffage today or anything heavy. i normally would have soup if i weren't on the diet. do you have any suggestions? also i know dairy helps with cramps, am i allowed this or no? my cramps are so bad today my perscription pills aren't working. this always happens to me the first dya.

Does anyone know typically how much weight is "retained" at TOM ???

How soon does it "release the water weight"?

How soon ahead of time would one normally start retaining!

I had nothing but veggies last night for dinner - did have rice, too.

This morn I'd lost 13 lbs!!!!!!

My TOM is in 5 days from now.

What a wierd thing!

Do you think it's b/c I had veggies????

It's exciting, but I'm not getting TOO excited.

Fluke, I'm sure!!!!

Ugh, sorry about your cramps and stuff. For me, protein works best in alleviating cramps. Dairy is good because it is a natural diuretic. Go for some vanilla light yogurt. I ate everything under the sun when I was in P1 and it was my TOM and that did not help any. The next day I allowed myself a little treat. I had it at the end of the day because I can not splurge mid day because that then sets a bad tone for the rest of the day. Perhaps try some sf ff Jello pudding. You'll use skim milk and get the cook and serve variety because it has a much better flavor and texture. The only reason it is not allowed in P1 is because it has some corn starch in it...but if you really need something, and trust me I get those urges too! Then that might be the safest way to go. Remember whatever you do, a little goes a long way. Remember portion size and if you need to make a lifestyle allowance (LOL!) it is not reason to totally jump ship and go on an eating spree!!!

There are sf chocolates out there, but I would not eat them during TOM because the sugar alcohols may wreck havoc on your stomach

Split pea soup is good - I add 1 chopped onion, 2 garlic cloves and a pound of split peas in a crockpot and cook overnight or all day on high with 6 cups water. You could add some ham too.
