The munchies?

Hi all,

I'm on day three of Phase 1, and although I'm not hungry, per se, I have this urge to munch. I wouldn't even call it a craving, exactly, because I'm not craving anything specific. Is this happening/has this happened with anyone else?

Here's what I've eaten so far today...finished lunch about an hour and a half ago.

Breakfast:

2 veggie quiche cups

2 slices Canadian bacon

V8

Snack:

Low fat mozzarella stick

Lunch:

Leftover Zesty chicken w/black beans from dinner last night (mmmm!)

(1 boneless chicken breast, green peppers, onions, diced tomatoes, jalapenos and black beans)

I've got a big turkey roll-up waiting in the fridge for my next snack. And I've been drinking lots of water -- I'd say about 40 ounces so far, steady through the day.

Any thoughts or suggestions? TIA!

~Steph

DUDE! I feel your pain! I'm on P1 D5 and while the "munchies" have gotten a little bit better, I can totally relate. I have a sugar-free piece of hard candy. It keeps my mouth and tastebuds occupied for a while, at least. Maybe others have a better idea???

Hi Steph, I would add more to your mid morning snack right off the bat.

Susan :)

Thanks, ladies!

I ended up running to the deli and getting a package of plain pistachios; had my allotted 30, which satisfied my need to chomp. I also had two turkey-cheese rollups, which I'd brought to the office for my afternoon snack. It seemed to do the trick!

I'm sooooooo not used to eating breakfast, which I know is not the greatest thing because you need to keep a steady stream of fuel...it just became my habit not to have breakfast or really any a.m. snack. I've got to break that. Another thing is, I'm sitting at a desk all day, and the monotony is DEADLY -- I think the noshing is mostly something to alleviate the boredom. Getting up and taking a brisk walk outside (in this case, to the deli) could also help break the cycle.

Susan, my mouth had been watering for the roasted garbanzos ever since the first post! I made them last night, and they were GREAT when they first came out of the oven...but then I think I packaged them too soon, because by this morning they were no longer crunchy and tasty -- more like rubbery and bland. Maybe I need to leave them out to cool down longer before putting them in a container... Like I said, they were terrific when they first came out of the oven -- now I just need to keep them that way so I can take them to work!!

Well, that's enough rambling -- movin' on!

LOL -- I'm inclined to agree with you! I felt much better after the pistachios yesterday, and I don't remember feeling that urge to nosh the day before, when I had celery w/peanut butter (natural, of course!) as one of my snacks. And today's been so much better!

So I guess I WAS having a craving, after all! ;-D

Thanks for the input!

I agree about the crunch thing. I think that's what I've been missing. Question for everyone, I've messed up a couple of times. Does that mean I need to go back to day 1, or should I just keep moving along? I've lost 8 pounds the first week. So, I do want to stay with this. Any advice would be great! Thanks!
