Dh and I started today. We did great with breakfast. We both had an omlet with some low fat lunch meat and I had mushrooms and then we both had low fat sliced cheese on them. We also had some turkey bacon.

Then we went to the mall to have my oldest's b/day pictures made. You have to wait after you sign in so we went to eat lunch at the food court. I was thinking that it would be okay to have barbeque since I didn't see it as restricted. Anyway, the bad part was where I got beef. :( I should have taken the book in with me. Man I feel terrible.

I thought I was doing good by not getting the sandwich, which I usually get.

Then, I'm not sure if these are bad, but I had baked beans and pickles. Can you guys tell me if those are bad? I looked in the book but couldn't find anything that referenced either of those.

I'm so mad at myself. We did however do better for dinner. We both had a salad with all the things that we're allowed.....low fat meat, low fat cheese, mushrooms, tomoatoes, etc.

Hey Angie!

First off don't be so hard on yourself! This WOE is designed to make it alright when you " mess up" every so often, just hop right back on the wagon at your next meal and eat what is under the allowed list.

You did alot better by not going for the sandwich, so don't be so mad about the BBQ, just don't do it to often. I'm not sure about baked beans, but I know pickles are fine to eat, also olives.

Don't be so bummed, you'll do fine!

Thanks Bonnie. Dh says I'm too hard on myself too. I need to get better at that. Thanks for making me feel better. I was so proud of myself (and I guess I still should be) because I haven't had one Dr. Pepper today. I'm a huge DP fan and can drink anywhere from 2-8 a day. I haven't done 8 a day in quite some time, but still, I have done it before.

They are free at work so very easy access. Anyway, I'm rambling again. Thanks so much!!

Angie,

Well it looks like you've already lost a pound? See that's wonderful!!! I know what you mean about doctor pepper, I used to go through a 2 liter of Pepsi in like 4 days. But with SBD and ALOT of willpower, I don't crave it anymore. I usually drink water or sugarfree coffee and try not to think about it. Your hubby is right, and a very good guy for being so supportive of you! My fiance is the same way. So just keep with it and you'll get the hang of it. Don't get down on yourself for cheating, we all eat things on the foods to avoid list once in awhile, the key is not to do it every single day. You're doing fine, keep up the good work and let me know if I can help you in any way.

Actually I lost that lb before I started on SBD. I have been trying to loose weight since the beginning on January.

It's a long story, but hey, I talk too much. ;) I had to have an emergency appendectomy in September. While I was in the hospital I didn't get to drink any Dr. Pepper because they didn't have any on the floor and I couldn't go anywhere. So, I actually got weined (and pain free because of the pain pills LOL). By the time I went back to work 2 weeks later I had lost about 15 lbs. Well, I gained quit a bit of that back and was back up to 200. Somehow I lost 11 and have been sitting here every since.

Angie:

I agree, please don't be hard on yourself. I'm the same way -- viewing eating as an all or nothing proposition ("I ate some ice cream, well I'm done eating right so I should just forget about it). You'll be alright. I've been less strict than others and my weight loss will be slow. I'm on week 3 and have been doing a modified Phase I (meaning a lot more snacks of veggies/hummus etc than I probably should have and an early slight mistake w/fat free not sugar free fudge bars). I'm staying on my modified Phase I for another week and cannot wait to add fruit back into my diet. My pants feel less tight, so it's going alright.

As for BBQ and beans -- they both have sugar, which is the problem. If you didn't have bbq sauce, the meat was probably fine and the beans have brown sugar. Just check labels. I am surprise at the things, including lunch meat that have sugar. I think part of the eating in this plan is to eat less processed food and thus, a lot less sugar. The fact that your DH is supportive is SO key.
