Hello Everyone!!

My name is Janice and I am new to low-carbing/The South Beach Diet. I am a cardiac nurse and overweight, so I thought "Gee... I should be healthier to encourage my patients" I agree with the author on soooo many points. I hope and pray that this way of eating with help me to live a long healthy life..

Thanks for putting posts that include recipes, tips and lists. I am trying to use everyone of them..

Janice :)

Welcome Janice!

Really, except for the first two weeks, or however long your Phase 1 lasts, this is not a low carb diet, but a HEALTHY carb diet and really there is a difference. (For example, look at all those Atkins ready to eat snack and meal bars, they may be low carb, but virtually no good in anything else!

The SBD way really works. P1 is tough, but if you can stand it you are home free to a healthy way of eating and you'll never want to revert to your own ways. And if you should accidentally cheat or fall off, you just pick yourself up and you'll be just fine. The good thing about this woe is that really, once you hit Phase 3 nothing is forbidden as long as you remember the word Moderation!

Good luck! and welcome to the Beach
