Actually this is two questions in one post.

First... the last two morning I've had the shakes and am hungry when I wake up. This has never ever happened to me, I'm not a morning food person, Never have shakes in the morning, and normally don't eat until 8am or after. Now this is happening at 5am! Yesterday I just gutted it out til 8:00 and felt awaful. This morning I had a tsp. of crunchy peanut butter - the regular kind, not sugar free. Don't even know if that's allowed but at that point I didn't care. So where are these early-morning shakes and hunger coming from?? (BTW, right now I'm having my 8:00 quiche cups and feeling fine)

Second... I've seen alot of posts where people say their pants feel looser although they may not have lost many pounds. I'm just the opposite! I'm very happy with the weight loss, pound-wise, but my pants are not feeling any looser at all. In fact, the jeans I have on today feel the same or even tighter than they did right before Christmas, when I weighed the same as I do today. What's the deal???

Thanks!

Hi Jill,

First, can you tell us what phase you are in?

Hey Jill! I am the same way. I have lost 5.5 pounds and only have 5 pound to go, but my pants are not any loser at all. I feel you pain. I have no bloating and drink lots of water. I am going to try and up my veggies.

Boy, the body really does change as you get older. blech!!!

Thanks, Susan...

**Jill, about the shakes... could be you need more salt? **

It's possible, but I really love salt and use alot of it. And I've been consciously adding a little more the last couple of days 'just in case'.

**It could also be that your blood sugar is low... you might want to try having a small protein rich snack an hour or so before bed? Or perhaps have a little Metamucil (or other fiber suppliment) about 15 minutes before your last meal.**

Aha... now that could be the problem, since I battle low blood sugar on a regular basis anyway (which was one of the reasons I wanted to try SBD, to get away from the sugar). I will definitely try the Metamucil before meals. In fact, I meant to bring some with me to work and forgot (DRATS!). But I'll do that starting tonight.

(And thanks for the blurbs, they were very interesting and helped!)

**About your pants feeling more snug lately... are you drinking enough water? Could you be experiencing PMS (makes me bloat)? Are you eating lots of veggies? (the guideline is 1/2 cup or V8 juice with breakfast... 2 cups with lunch and dinners).**

Oh... DUH! (blushing) Yes, I am due to start in 2-3 days - why didn't I think about that?

I think I do drink enough water, a half gallon here at work and then 2-3 more glasses at night. But I might not be getting enough veggies. Yesterday I had the quiche cups, but I think that was all the veggies I had and I know that's not enough. Today, I had the quiche cups for breakfast, and I'm aiming for a salad at lunch, and then the roasted veggies with dinner.

THANKS!!!!

Hi Maggie...

I'm in Phase I. Last week I started cutting down on carbs, and then "officially" started SBD on Sunday. So technically I'm in Day 3, Phase I, but I kind of 'cheated' by cutting down before then.

Anyway, I've lost 3 pounds so far (yea!) - and I had gained 3 pounds during the holidays, so that's what I meant about weighing now what I weighed right before Christmas.

I'll try Susan's tips - Metamucil, protein snack, and more veggies - and see if those help. And any more you might have are More than welcome!

Thanks!

Boy, doesn't the body change!? It stinks, too. (lol) Even when I lost weight a couple of years ago, I still couldn't fit into pants that I wore years before at the SAME weight. Guess things just 'rearranged' themselves. :p

Good luck, I hope your pants feel much looser as the next 5 pounds come off!!!
