Going Crazy with Cravings!!!

I'm sitting here in a not so good mood.  This is the second post I've tried to make and I'm fighting my cravings right now.

I've been on SBD since Sunday, and while I have cheated a teeny, tiny bit - overall, I have stuck to the plan pretty faithfully.  But right now, the cravings are killing me!  LOL!! I think part of it has to do with the fact that I've started my TOM today.  And this is where I usually crave (and demolish) a bag of salt and vinegar chips.  I'm surfing the net right now because I'm trying to fight the urge to order that pizza or make that baked potato with sour cream and cheese.

Tomorrow's going to be worse because I have to be at the mall tomorrow for an appointment.  I have to avoid the food court cravings as well as the urge to stop by the grocery store on the way home.  So, right now - between the cravings and the sugar-withdrawal headaches I am one raving B**** right now!  LOL!!  It's a good thing DH has a night mission tonight or else he would be suffering my wrath!  LOL!!

I'm trying to keep the picture of me in a bathing suit this summer in my mind -- but right now -- summer be damned!!  (I know I'll feel differently in about 20 minutes!!)

Is anyone or has anyone felt like this before or am I just looney??  LOL!!

Thanks for letting me vent!

Hi Jennifer,

Oh yes, dear...been there...done that!!!! I slipped over the holidays and then had to go on a two-week business trip and found it virtually impossible to stick on this when eating out every blessed night for two weeks. So, I gave up and decided to start P1 again the Monday I got back. Wouldn't you know it...Monday I got my TOM. Now, I never, ever have had PMS...if I wouldn't have told my ex when I had it, he never would have known, because I didn't get grumpy...nothing. But this time, holy smokes!!! I had cravings galore!!!! I fought them for a day and then gave in. I figured...what the heck...I'll start again next week. So, I gave myself permission to be bad all week and started again Monday. Funny thing is, though, that being bad all week...I lost weight!!! Still not quite down to what I was before the holiday slippage, but close. So far this week, I've been doing pretty well.

Good luck!!!

I keep hearing about people using the roasted garbanzos to satisfy cravings. It does seem to help, too. If you like salt & vinegar chips, try roasting the garbanzos with salt and vinegar.

I definitely understand the cravings. I usually start with PMS about 2-3 weeks before my TOM, which is very messed up. Fortunately I don't have to deal with TOM on a regular basis. The cravings always are a killer, and I get so cranky that my dh can hardly stand me. My mother always said that my TOM turned me into Mt. Vesuvius - as in I am terribly unpredictable and blow up without warning. If you do give in to the cravings, don't beat yourself up over it... just get back in step when you can. And vent here whenever you need.

Well - I didn't give in.....I had a broiled chicken breast marinated with a balsamic vinagrette and roasted vegetables with Crystal Light Ice Tea.

Hi and welcome. I am new, too. Just started yesterday. I slipped up a bit yesterday and today I managed to follow it to the letter. I haven't got the book yet, but I will pick it up on Saturday at Costco. I felt really good today and I must admit that I am getting a bit of help from an appetite suppressant, phentermine. I use it very sparingly, but I think until the cravings go away I will take one daily. I have to be careful with it because it can cause blood pressure to go up and I have been hitting borderline lately, so I will check my pressure daily before taking it. I wish you luck and I know how you feel about the cravings. They are powerful things and sometimes hard to manage. I just started my period today, so my water retention is up and my cravings are, too. I think I'll be fine in a couple of days when things settle down. You'll do fine and just come here for some support and information. These gals are great. Celeste

Garbanzo beans are called chickpeas and you can find them in the veggie isle of your grocery store.
