Not sure if I should try Metamucil...

I have read that fiber, such as Metamucil will help slow digestion. I'm literally hungry all the time since starting this WOE. I eat pretty much constantly, too. I haven't measured my veggies at all, but I will assume I'm getting enough at the very least. I've gone through 2 1lb bags of salad mix, 1 bag of spinach leaves, 2 heads of lettuce, 2 pkgs of celery, and much more all since Tuesday. I'm eating so many green veggies that everything is turning green... I'm eating radishes today, too... I think they're okay anyway. I wouldn't mind trying the Metamucil, or other fiber, but I'm a little afraid to since I really don't need its laxative effects.

I've had a few nuts, a bit of cheese, and a little meat. My constant hunger seems to have slowed considerably today. I've added a few of the roasted chickpeas, and they seem to be lasting a lot longer than anything else. I guess I can't complain too much though, since I've lost a bit of weight and size. I just get tired of having to carry food with me absolutely everywhere, and being hungry 15 minutes after eating. I never had the hunger problem before starting this WOE...

Hi,

I would recommend FiberCon tablets. My dr. recommended them to me to help things keep moving. I've used them for awhile now and you don't get that feeling of "oh my gosh...I have to go to the restroom!!!" It's slow and gentle. I use two tablets a day, and you can use up to four a day. You can find this stuff anywhere...grocery or drugstore. Sometimes when I am truly feeling a bit 'backed up' I use Children's Castoria which is a true laxative. It's very gentle. But I don't use that on a day to day basis.

Add more meats and cheeses!!! Protein is key in this WOE. A few is not enough.

I thought I was getting enough protein and good fat. In fact, I thought I might be eating too much of those also. I don't know. I did add a bit more meat yesterday, and it does seem to help but not a whole lot. I think I'll cautiously try the Metamucil.

In the morning, I feel full when I have one egg and a cheese stick, but I'm hungry again in about an hour. I eat another cheese stick and a bunch of celery for snack. Lunch is usually some sort of salad with a lot of lettuce and/or other veggies, mixed with a can of tuna or half a can of salmon. Afternoon snack is usually pistacios, followed by more celery. Dinner is a fish filet or chicken breast spiced with whatever I feel like at the moment with broccoli or cauliflower. Dessert is a couple hours after dinner, and I do the riccota mixed with vanilla and splenda. Then I'm feeling starved by bedtime. I'm finding that if I drink about half a glass of milk half an hour before bed, I can get to sleep before I'm hungry again.

Tonight I'm going to try a lentil soup with a smidgen of ham, and probably add a little chicken to that too.
