Is anyone dieting with their hubby?? Just curious to see whom joined the diet to together and whom is sticking to it?? Who cheated first?? hehehehe This is the much better than Atkins which we did last year. Its much easier to follow, and not feel cravings. We are doing so well. However, he is winning the race hes lost 25 pounds in less than 3 weeks! I am at 12. I am not complaining as least I am losing!

Anyone else??

HI!*waving* I am also doing this with my hubby! I have 2 of my girls doing it too.

We.ve been on it for 6 days, and we are doing great so far! I would have to say as far as whining goes.....he wins that award hands down! LOL! My goodness the first 3 days were ....well I wont say, its not appropiate*grin* But it wasn't easy, he had withdrawals REALLY Bad! He was a BIG carbs fan! I only missed the conveinence of the "fast food" I could make, like sandwiches for lunch, or mac and cheese for the kids, stuff like that. And on day 3 I had a real hankerin' for some Death by Chocolate ice cream that i have in the freezer, LOL, but I resisted!!!

So far I have lost around 10 lbs, and he has lost 13. We have both hit a stall though, guess because it came off so fast. And Susan was right, men burn it quicker, they have more muscle mass by nature so they have a higher metabolism as luck would it! LOL!

May the Road rise to meet you, and the wind always be at your back!

DH and I are doing this together. We are ea. 29 and have lots of weight we need to lose. DH was told that he needs to get his colesterol in check so that it is not a problem when he gets older. We are on day one of phase 1 - so far so good. All three meals we had today were really great - surprisingly. I hate cooked veggies and with a little dressing up, they actually weren't too bad. I coudl get used to this! Although, my problem is that on Friday before I had my doctor's appt., where it was suggested to me that I look into this diet due to my concerns over massive weight gain from taking Depo, I had baked a Devil's Chocolate Cake w/ Fluffernutter icing. My favorite. So, on day one of phase one, I had a slice of cake. What can I say, I'm weak!! However, once it is out of my site, I won't think twice about eating anything else carb related. DH and I are going to combine the better diet with at least 20 minutes of intensive exercise a day. Hopefully that will melt off the pounds. For once, I am actually looking forward to a diet! I have stayed full today on all the veggies that we ate, but I need to drink more water.

GL to you!

The good thing about this diet is just that , you feel full most of the time. If you start drinking more water, you will forget its even time to eat. The cravings will honestly disappear. I was a disbeliever, but I swear its true! I may think something sounds good, but its only for a minute and its gone. I think the one thing that I overlooked the most was the importance of the amount of sugar intake. Make sure to read all labels, including salad dressing, canned foods and yogurt. Im sure you're going to do great! Dont worry about the cake, just start the day tomorrow thinking I am not going to eat another piece.. hehehehe

Good Luck !

My DH and I are in this together too. He started about a week after me due to being out of town. Tuesday will be my full 2 weeks of Phase I. Haven't been on the scale the last 2 days, but I've lost 6 1/2 so far. Hubby has lost about 7. It's so much easier to do this together. He's a bread man, and I'm a sweets fan. But we are encouraging each other. I even stepped foot into the gym today ... I hate to exercise, but I know I need to.

Good luck to everyone!

My DH started this before me, I was breastfeeding at the time and didn't want to mess with my milk supply -- and not ready to give up my favorite coping mechanism (refined carbs in large quantity). I weaned my baby and am not burning that extra 500 cals a day by producing milk, so I decided to take this weight problem seriously.

We really encourage each other. He said it has been so easy because I fix all the food and he just has to eat it and not snoop around for anything additional. I think I would like to try this diet with someone preparing all meals and snacks for me!!! But I like the feeling of being in control of putting nutritional things in my body and preparing something for my husband that will truly benefit his health. I've cut my toddler's sugar intake by a bunch and have upped his complex carb intake. He didn't miss a beat with the changes.

I just feel so good to be doing right by my family.

I only wish I were losing weight more quickly!!!!!!!! I seem to be losing inches not weight presently. At least its something.

Today was day one of phase one for my dh and myself. We did well. Planning out meals helped so much!!! We both were tired and had headaches this afternoon. In fact, dh is asleep right now, really tired and has a major headache. We both cannot believe that we just eat until we are full, as long as it's off the Good List. I pray that he sees the results before I do, and I want it off of me fast...it will motivate him. My poor dh, detoxing from his 4-6 Pepsi a day habit. I miss my candy.

in peace~

My dh started south beach about 4 days after me. I've been on it for 3 weeks and him for 2 1/2. We both love it. And it helps sooooo much that he is doing it with me, that way we give each other support. Like you, my dh has lost more weight than I have. I try not to let it bother me, I just tell him it's because he weighed more than I did to begin with.

I had a major headache for about 2 days.. I also used to drink 3 or so pepsi a day. But I have not had any in 3 weeks. I am really shocked I am not craving it! Tell him to hold on, it gets better. You can have your candy..Just look for the sugar free kind, and follow the guidelines for calories per day in the book.

Good luck!
