Will SB diet fail if lunch isn't folowed

My DH has a business where he has to take clients to lunch and dinner. Will we fail at this diet if once or twice a week we have to stray from the diet? Like maybe he misses the lunch once or twice a week. Or another week he does a different dinner?
I can follow the meal plan. My DH should be able to follow it 90% of the time in the first phase. Is it not going to work for him at all? I would be happy if he lost five pounds. That would be enough probably to reel him in.

I see two answers to your question, so here they are!
1. It is possible to stick to the Phases at most restaurants. If the menu doesn't have a dish that you know is phase-friendly, you can ask them to substitute extra vegetables or a salad for the un-friendly portions, or ask them to change white rice to brown. If they can't/won't substitute, ask them to leave it off altogether. If DH doesn't want to explain to his business partners why he's ordering what he is, he can always fake a food allergy or something ;-) I've played off being a vegetarian at many a business dinner (it can be very difficult to work in the Mid-East field when you don't like lamb!!!)...so you could even call ahead to the restaurant and find out their substitution policy.
2. The occasional meal off-track won't sabotage you completely if it's too hard to follow the phases during the business dinners. Just pay close attention to how you feel the next day, and I personally make it a point to weigh in the day after a big detour just to monitor the results and evaluate what I need to do to repair the damage. Take a personal inventory the day before and after the planned indiscretion and see how things change for you. Who knows, you may discover a new dish that complements what you're trying to accomplish :-)
Don't be afraid to experiment at restaurants, this is a real-world-friendly WOE!
