I'm gaining! What's Up? Help!

I'm just in week 1 P1 and I'm gaining! I don't get it. I'm on day 7. For the first 3 days I lost a total of 3.5 lbs. The next 3 days I gained 1/2 lb. per day. The only things that I ate differently was turkey chili for lunch on 2 days (a cup at a meal), and I started taking Benefiber. One serving per day (1 tbsp/serving).

Am I doing something wrong? Or is this normal.

Tia, will you post a typical day's meal plan for us (everything you've eaten and amounts)?

Susan :)

Thanks for your help Susan. Yes, I am weighing every day. I know, my bad. It's a life-long habit born of life-long dieting.

Here's what I eat on a typical day:

Breakfast: 2 eggs equiv substitute, 1 tbsp low-fat cheddar cheese, 1/2 cup bell peppers

AM Snack: 1 low-fat string cheese

Lunch: chicken salad (just chicken on lettuce), 2 tbsp low-carb low-fat dressing, sugar-free fudgsicle

PM Snack: 15 peanuts

Dinner: salmon filet, 1 cup broccoli, 1/2 cup part-skim vanilla ricotta cream

I know this probably doesn't look like I'm eating enough. I've been participating in Discovery Health's National Body Challenge for the last 5 weeks. Their calculations told me to eat 1,200 cal per day... and I gained weight over the month. That's why I've been trying SBD for the last week. I usually eat less than 1,000 cal per day to maintain my weight. I've really screwed up my metabolism over the last 25+ years of constant dieting. The only diet I lost weight on was a doctor monitored liquid protein diet of 450 cal per day. I lost 24 lbs. in 6 months.

Maybe my metabolism is just too messed up to lose even on SBD. Sorry for the rant - I'm just frustrated.

Tara
