Day 1 and have a question?

Ok,

for breakfast this morning, I had 2 slices canadian bacon

I had a tomato juice and 1/2 cup egg substitute.

Now, I just had my midmorning snack:

celery w/ light laughing cow cheese wedge -

I had only one stick of celery and - I had enough cheese left for another piece of celery.

My question:  Did I do something wrong with this snack?  The cheese came in a circle with little triangle shaped wedges - I am assuming that each one is considered a "wedge" and that it's only one serving....I hope.  Should I have added another piece of celery?  Did I screw this snack up?  I am worried that I had too much cheese or maybe hopefully I can add another piece of celery -

I know this is silly - but I just want to do this right and accurately.

Hi Amanda,

It's great that you're starting today - it's a wonderful way of eating. You don't have to worry about doing it exactly correctly. What you ate was fine. The only question is whether you felt full - the point is to keep our blood sugar even. The choice of food is fine. Celery is essentially water so you can eat any amount of it. I don't know about the triangles of laughing cow cheese. I get the little round ones in red wax which say low fat and have 50 calories...that's what I consider a serving. But we're "allowed" to eat as much of our protein source (which in this case is cheese) as we need so we can avoid feeling starved by the time or before the next meal. I hope this helps!

There are tons of SBD friendly recipes on the web...you could probably google chicken marinade and get many. I like chinese food, so sometimes I marinate them in soy sauce and sherry with garlic and ginger, or with mustard and shallots, you could add some italian dressing spices...phase 1 can be a little boring so you might want to marinate them in a few different sauces so you have some variety. If you don't have the food list you should get it - it's probably on the phase 1 part of this board. Then you can get a better idea of what ingredients can be in the marinades. Good luck!
