How's it going for you? I need advice!

I posted this on another board I frequent but realized only a few are trying SB so I decided to post here. I just wanted to know -how's the diet going? Is it easy for you? I'm having a tough time only a few days in and that makes me feel like a wimp-however, this is a DRASTIC change from the way I was eating before! I have realized that I can live without the junk I'm used to eating. And I know that I can live without white bread, potatoes, and rice, I miss pasta- but I definitely don't need to eat it as often as I was. However, I feel strangely thristy and very weird since eating only the foods allowed in Phase I. I have been very good with following the guidelines and I drink lots of water but I still feel weird. Are any of you feeling strange? What are you eating to make it more bearable? Can you recommend some easy to make easy to find foods? Some of that stuff makes me feel icky and I need some advice or I fear I will give in and eat some "forbidden" fruit! I really miss fruit! I never realized how much I like it! And I'm tired of eggs for breakfast! I want cereal! I just want to get through the next week and a half because I definitely think Phase II will be better! I'm doing really good with exercising but I think it makes me even more hungry!
Thanks a bunch!
Thanks a bunch!

Above all, don't give up. When your body is done detoxing, you will feel even better than you did before starting this WOE. Come here for support and hints, and that will definitely help you too.

It's great that you started the SBD, and you're certainly not alone if feeling less than perfect and unhappy with the breakfasts. Lots of people feel weird at the beginning of SBD. I had a headache for two days, other people felt de-energized, sleepy, a little weak. It seems that drinking all the required water is really important, and make sure you're eating enough. You don't have to starve yourself on this diet. The book says that after drinking your glass of water before the mean, eating all those veggies and a regular serving of the protein, to eat more protein if you're still hungry, and to eat slowly so your body can register that you've eaten. I think most people who don't feel so great in the beginning feel better by about day 4, though a few have felt bad a little longer. And no one feels bad on phase 2.
I've been on the SBD since Jan 5 and really like it. It was very hard in the beginning of phase 1 and I have to say the breakfasts were the hardest to take. I tried to vary the form the eggs were in to make it seem a little different from day to day, to eat them with different things (soy sausage or canadian bacon), and to have cottage cheese on some days. I also had tomatoes and cucumbers every day, but even these could be varied (broil the tomato, scoop out the seeds and put cottage cheese in the cucumber).
So here are a few breakfasts:
Spinach and feta cheese omelet, Canadian bacon, broiled tomato, olives
Hard boiled egg, yogurt, tomato, cucumbers, red peppers (cut into little pieces) & yogurt
Cottage cheese on red pepper slices, 2 slices of ham wrapped around a cucumber
Scrambled eggs with soy sausage, tomato and cucumbers
Western omelet, , tomatoes
I found if the meals at least looked different from each other it was easier, though these do take some time to make.
I also have to say that I had oatmeal 2 times when I couldn't face another egg...I thought it was better to find my own way to stay with the program, than to go back to Banana Nut Crunch. And maybe that's why I "only" lost 5 pounds the first two weeks rather than 8, 10, 12, like other people who started at the same time. (though I'm completely happy with 5).
In terms of making it bearable, I look forward to my 15 almonds which I eat for my morning snack and my fudgesicle every night. Other people say they like the sugar free jello, and the ricotta dishes (mocha, lemon etc) I suppose you could eat those for breakfast too. Sugarless gum is good, I have it after lunch for a little something sweet.
I have really changed my taste in food - I can't believe I like a non-sweet breakfast, I used to eat sugary cereal, coffee cake, pancakes with syrup, etc. and now I look forward to ff sf yogurt with tomatoes and cucumbers!!! I really do believe that the first 2 weeks detoxify our bodies and get us off of sugar.
Anyway, try to stick with it - it's really a healthy way to eat and a great way to get away from cravings as well as a way to lose weight. And this board is a great place to get ideas and support from lots of people.
