Hi everyone! My name is Lori and I just started the South Beach thing. So far, so good...I think. I weighed myself on monday, but I really don't want to get on the scale again until the seven day mark.

I am a bit bored with the food , but of course I didn't expect it to be easy. I feel really motivated to see if this will work for me. I'm 37 and I exercise at a gym 4 days per week. I do aerobics and the treadmill. I've been doing this since september, but haven't gotten much weight loss as a result. AND, I admit, I was pretty much eating whatever I wanted....very bad! So, I knew it was time to get my eating under control.

I have never done any kind of low carb diet. In my 20's when I wanted to lose weight, I always did a low fat thing....and it DID work for me. My body was a lot different in my 20's though...and it was much easier to lose weight. Back then, I could just up my exercise and still eat pretty much whatever I wanted...those were the days! hee hee.

I would like (NEED!) to lose at least 40lbs...if not more.

I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you...and sharing recipe ideas and support!
