I just dont understand...

This week because of stress, I cheated A LOT!
I'm talking white castle cheese burgers and today I had some general Tso Chicken and a little but of fried rice from the chinese restaurant. After all of this, I get on the scale today (afraid of what I am going to see) and found out that I lost 15 pounds. FIFTEEN! needless to say, I am delighted and this has really motivated me to have more will power, even when stressed. I just dont understand why I have lost so much when I had some of those very bad carbs on the side.

that is awesome, 15 pounds.

When someone tells you that you can't go any farther, just tell them to look behind you and see how far you've
I had Boston Market for dinner: side caesar with a grilled chicken breast, but I had a chocolate chip Toll House cookie afterwards after reading this post:

The theory is that if you are on a low-carb diet or if you cut your calories by a lot (which some of us do as well), your leptin level goes way down after a while (leptin is a hormone that is almost like the master of your metabolism). So sometimes your weight loss slows or stalls. Thus if you have some "bad" carbs, your leptin level goes up, and so long as you go back to your low-carb ways, your leptin levels will stay higher than before while you are eating low-carb. The second article in the third or fourth post basically tries to get you to imagine that your leptin should "spill over" into your fat cells. It is very, very interesting.
Thus your "badness" might have helped you lose weight. Just make sure you get back on track!!!
Luckily the cookie was enough indulgence for me; as soon as I was done I got very thirsty and drank an entire glass of water without stopping. Because I took my fiber supplement and had the salad and chicken on top of the cookie, I am full and satisfied. I was worried that the cookie would make me want to eat more bad stuff (not that I have any in my apartment), but it didn't. I feel physically and mentally satisfied with it. I don't even feel bad! Of course I can't make it a habit, though. I haven't had sugar in the longest time and think I can live without it for the most part.
I hope that explains some of your confusion. Get back to us and let us know what time period that 15 pounds was in. If it was one week, I might have to know what your menu for the week was ;)

Btw, that's a very interesting theory, I might look more into that.=)
