I have been lurking and it seems that this is a great WOE!!! Ok - I am ready - bring it on!!!
my history..... I found much success on Sugar Busters last year - losing 15 lbs. but I have platteaued. and SB offers no advice, no community, to get over this. I am drawn to SBD b/c it is similar but better written and with 3 distinct phases. now my DH forbid me from spending any more money on diet books. (I have atkins, SB, much money spent on WW...) so I am going from the info gained here and from hippodamia.com ....
I am starting tomorrow. I will need strength and advice. but I am already so empowered by reading the community here that I am ready!!!
I am leaving for a floriday vacation on March 16th. I would like to be 14 lbs down by then. is that possible??? SB was such a slow process - but then again I am VERY pear shaped so this may take me a while too, right???
So DH is not in this with me, but he will not critisize....
Any words of wisdom on these first 2 weeks will be appreciated!!

ps - how often do you weigh yourselves???

Hello and welcome, I am new to this too.

When someone tells you that you can't go any farther, just tell them to look behind you and see how far you've
Your goal of 14 lbs is doable on SBD by Mar. 16, especially if coupled with exercise. I'm on Day 10 of Phase 1 and have lost 8 lbs. already. I'm a pear also. :)
Words of advise on te first two weeks, from someone who's almost through it. Splenda and Aleve will become your new best friends. Make sure you have a supply of both in your home. The key is to fight cravings before they start by eating (which seems a strange concept for a diet, but it works). Take a trip to the market and buy only things that are allowed in Phase 1...this may be a little harder for you since you're shopping for more than yourself. Drink lots of water to head off dehydration and headaches. And come here each day for a lot of great tips and motivation. This board has been a tremendous resource for me, and will continue to be throughout my SBD journey.
Good luck in your quest!

Hi Laura!
Susan :)
Here are some phase 1 meal ideas too:
Susan :)
So I had an egg fritatta for breakfast and made a big batch of chicken soup without noodles of course so that is for lunch. Cashews in my drawer for snack, a huge glass of water (which my colleague calls my vase of water), and I am ready for success!!! Countdown to FLA!!!!
