a question about nuts in phase 1

OK. I've read my SBD book and today I went out and bought the Good Fats, Good Carbs Guide. The allowed foods lists inside both books are the same. Both of them list a snack of almonds as 15 nuts. But inside the book, almonds are a "good" snack choice and you are allowed 1 ounce. On my 10 ounce can of almonds it lists 10 servings of 1/4 c. each. OK. I measured out 1/4 c. of almonds. That's a lot of almonds. Got out my trusty food scale (left over from my WW days). I mean, something has to be wrong, doesn't it? We're allowed 15 almonds or 1 ounce. Poured my 1/4 c. almonds on the scale. 1 oz. Counted them. 30 nuts. So which is it? 15 nuts or 1 oz. And why the discrepancy? Anybody know?

getting confused,

For phase 1 the "foods allowed list" lists 15 almonds.

Thanks Susan. I think 15 will be enough, but the difference was confusing. Guess that's just the ex-WW in me that wants to be so exact about everything. I definitely need to get over that! :-)

Thanks again Susan. I'm trying to relax and remember to eat the right things without counting points/calories/fat grams/carbs/etc. It's freeing, but a bit nerve wracking. LOL. I'll get used to it!

I agree with Susan about the nuts.
