I was feeling REALLY crappy for the first couple days and seriously considered quitting. BUT here I am on day 8 of Phase One and I feel much better! I haven't lost a lot, maybe 3 pounds, but I finally feel in control of what I choose to eat. Before I had NO willpower-if bread was put in front of me, I'd eat it whether I was hungry or not. I had the most trouble with sweets-candy bars, cookies, ice cream-and ate some sort of sweet junk food daily. Now I know I can resist those foods. Sure, I still miss that yummy sweet stuff, but in the future lesser amounts will satisfy me and I also know of healthier alternatives! I'm glad I started this diet and I cannot wait for Phase II. (mmmmm...apple) I just wanted to post and say that the people who reassure you that it will get better are telling the truth. And I don't know about you but I will definitely feel a sense of accomplishment once I make it to Phase II!

Best wishes everyone!

Shannon, thanks for sharing your experience. I am kind of confused because my scale goes up one pound, then down two, back up one, etc. In other words, I have not lost, but I am determined to stick with it. It's not hard for me because I love veggies and can stay away from the sweets, do miss the noodles, rice, and potatoes.

I'm not missing anything that much though, and with the encouragement of this group I feel very confident about the end result.

YEA!! That's great hun!!

I wanted to tell that I'm back on P1 for the week (maybe two). (I've been back and forth for the past month.) I haven't lost much (about 5 lbs) but I'm happy with that and confident that I can keep losing. (On this board they kept telling me to remind myself that it didn't come on in a week it's not going to come off in a week. Which is so true.) I have been noticing the control issue not an issue anymore. You just automatically pick the good things and when you eat the bad, you know it. For example I went to the grocery last night. Found the low carb yogurt, fat free cottage cheese, sugar free syrup and ice cream, celery and low fat cheese, veggies, tofu, just all the things your should eat if your trying to be healthy. It's truly become a WOL never thought it would happen, but it's pretty easy especially once you get the hang of the whole diet.

Just as a side being V-Day this weekend and a long weekend I knew I was going to be bad.....I ate a lot of sweets (knew I would) but I never touched the bread or potatoes, don't really want them anymore. It's flour and sugar that are my downfalls. I didn't think I could give up bread being a Ovo-lacto vegitarian but it was pretty simple and I feel soooo much better. So that's why I'm back on P1, falling off the wagon for the weekend, but I did it consciously and knew I was going back to the beach on Tue. THANK YOU all for all your support on this board. It's a true lifesaver!
