Has anybody tried the Ragu Light Sauce? I've been using it for a while-before I started SBD. I think it's ok because we are allowed some tomatoes. Ingredients:tomato puree (tomatoes and water),diced tomatoes, onions, pure imported olive oil, salt, garlic power, basil, parsley and spices. I don't see anything in it we can't have on Phase 1. BTW, it has 1.5 total fat,0 sat. fat, 0 chol. 7g carbs tot.,2g fiber, 5 sugars, and 2g protein.

I just started Feb. 7 and have lost 4 pounds first week. I don't seem to be doing anything right now on the scales, but I measured myself again since I started and I've lost 1 inch from my boobs and 1 1/2 inches from my waist and 1/2 inch from my hips! That makes me feel like I'm doing something right. My husband is on it too. He's lost more than me so far. I'm hoping the Ragu is allowed b/c my husband LOVES his chicken with a little sauce and mozzarella on it (low fat of course). Hopefully one of our moderators can answer. Thanks to anyone else who can answer. "Keeping the faith"...Dawn

Congratulations on your weight loss!

I too, have used the Ragu you mention. I think it is fine for SBD, provided that you stick within the daily tomato limit - and probably any recipe using sauce will not put you over.

Enjoy!

Have you tried Emeril's pasta sauces?

I think 5 grams of sugar is a bit high.

Thanks Karezz and Squirtsmama for the info. I have not tried any of Emeril's, but next time I shop, I'll pick some up. I did not know that there were new guidelines for Phase 1. Any idea's where I could get them? I just bought the SBD book. Must be there are new guidelines since the book was printed?. Thank you again for the help. "Keeping the faith"...Dawn

Cathy thanks so much for the info. My DH will be glad he can have his yogurt and we've both missed the milk in our coffee and tea. I really appreciate it:)! "Keeping the faith"...Dawn
