ACK! Munchies...what to do?

I don't have any celery in the house and the rest of the stuff I have as munchies is stuff like popcorn, cookies, meatballs with bread crumbs, etc that I don't need/want. What would Mel do? ;) (ANY advice please) I ate a hardboiled egg and am going to take a nap for now. (munching on the ice in my water)

I did "break down" and had a piece of king cake- my Bible study facilitator had it overnighted from New Orleans. My friend reminded me that it's a once a year thing which convinced me though I didn't need much convincing. I'm not going to have my fudgesicle tonight to "pay" for/absorb it...already had my sweet for the day. I took the kids to McD's for lunch and didn't munch even ONE fry. :)

I really see why you don't weigh yourself- yesterday when I did, I was 1 1/2 lbs down and this morning when I tried again for curiosity, I was down 5 lbs from yesterday. I'm sure it'll be up and down this week. Friday is my official weigh in day so I'll wait 'til then and see.

Day four- 3 down and 10 more!

Ah, munchie attacks! I made it through Phase 1 with nuts, SF popsicles, SF Jell-O with Reddi-Whip (1 T. or so on top), peanut butter (could go on celery), hummus with strips of red bell pepper for dipping, FF yogurt flavored with vanilla and Splenda, and most of all, low fat ricotta flavored with Splenda and cocoa powder. SF gum helped me through a few moments. I shouldn't forget the string cheese. And sometimes I reached in the fridge for a slice of LF turkey.

Since this diet is not so much about the amount we eat, but what we eat, I felt free to grab something all day long.....and I did! At the end of the two week Phase 1, I was down 7 pounds and had not suffered at all. (The worst was passing up the rolls at our regular restaurant.)

Hope this helps,

Judy

When I get the munchies, I eat a couple nuts and make a big cup of decaf coffee with Splenda. The nuts will give your mouth and stomach something to work on and the coffee will fill your belly with something warm and satisfy your sweet tooth. Sometimes I can even get away with just slamming a big glass of water or Crystal Lite iced tea. Sometimes thirst is disguised as hunger - so be sure to get your 64+ ounces of water in every day. Sugar-free gum also works if you're just looking to "taste" something.
